I bought my first H bag from Amsterdam store. I simply called them and they kept the bag for me while I was travelling around Asia. On my way home I stopped in Amsterdam and got the bag. It wasn´t a Kelly or a Birkin but the service was great and they were really friendly. That was some time ago but maybe you can call them and ask what they have?

Thanks so much ~ Great idea Eulalia, i will give them a call! i am relieved to hear that the sa's are lovely and helpful and hopefully very very patient ~ as DH has noooo idea what to buy! He did ask if there was anything in particular i wanted and my answer was "surprise me" ......perhaps not a good idea..think i might email him a small list and see what he comes home with.....my HG would of course be fantastic but anything in an orange box will make me very happy:smile1:

I think they've opened in de Bijenkorf, but my dutch isen't that good unfortunately.

That store is supposedly on dam square and easier to access than the one in hoofstraat if you're staying at the airport as the dam is really close to the train station in amsterdam and amsterdam is a short trip form the airport by train. It seems like that H brach much much smaller than a regular store though, like the shop in shop in oslo and similar. I Haven't been able to visit yet. Maybe someone in holland can confirm and give an update on inventory?

The store locator page on H.com isen't working for me at the moment.

At the airport itself, there's no H as far as I know, but I think there used to be one years ago. I'm sure you'll find some info if you do a search. =)

ill be in amsterdam in april and will be staying close to the dam, if anyone has more info on the dam store, please post. thanks

There's a big shopping mall on the dam square, called Bijenkorf. One small Hermes boutique was just opened about 3 months ago as one of the anchors of the mall. They don't display a lot, but if you ask (and you're lucky) they some time come with the item you want. Although I've never seen a Birkin nor Kelly, I've seen some Bolide and other bags in display.

The Dam H is not very big, it's basically a small store in a department store. They usually have a few canvas bags, sometimes a Bolide or Kelly, and I once saw a Jypsiere. The PC Hooftstraat boutique is bigger and carries more bags  Is there anything in particular you're looking for? I'll be visiting both stores on Saturday!

Agreed with Graciella - the Hermes boutique in De Bijenkorf is rather small and there is much more choice to be had at the PC Hooftstraat boutique. The H at the Bijenkorf has limited amounts of bags. They have nearly no clothes (just a few sweaters) and focus, it appears, mostly on some jewelry, scarves, ties, perfumes and a few odds/ends.

I was actually at the H boutique on the PC yesterday and they are still getting things in, although I did notice new housewares on display, and some great blankets as well. Scarf choices at the moment are only OK as they appear to still be getting things in.

Sophistry, just FYI, if your DH is flying through Roissy/Charles de Gaulle airport, the H boutique is rather small and not so great. There is some choice but I have never found it to be that wonderful a place for my finds. Still, you never know where the one thing you are looking for turns up...
