I had received one as a gift a few years ago. The board is not a checker board, but rather an international draught board. Each player has 20 pieces. It’s made of two woods: rosewood and mahogany. It is mini as it is designed to be a travel set. As for the year of its production, I am not sure.Hi Hermes Home Fans,
Is anyone familiar with this Hermes Mini Checkers Game. (Pictures Attached) I am not sure the year this item was manufactured. I have a Mini Chess Game I purchased at Hermes, this item is still produced. But I can’t find any details regarding the Mini Checker Game. I hope one of you has some details to share.
Thank you
Joe

I have never seen this game set before. It reminds me of Kaplas. Like your other game, this one looks to be made out of rosewood. Hermes has cutdown its use of rosewood in past ~5 years due to regulations on exotic woods. None of the game boards are produced in rosewood anymore. This is also true for the pléiade collection. For the exact year, I am unable to tell, but this era of Hermes where they produced many travel rosewood game sets is circa 2010-2015. I loved their homeware selection back then as it was much more muted and insolite. The orange box that comes with it also seems to be special; those are always fun to see. I always love to see all the niche pieces Hermes commercialized over the years!J’adoreHermes
Thank you for the details you provided. It is nice to know it is a draught game, since it did not seam like a standard checker board.
I have another game and thought I would ask if you are familiar with it.
(jeu de construction brik et block pm)
Another item I have been unable to date.
Thank you again for all your help

I do appreciate your expertise. It is nice to chat with someone with such knowledge of Hermes home items. I do agree many of the early items feel more sophisticated and unique. I especially like early boxes, like the 2 Zoulou boxes in oak and mysore goat I have had for years. This year I purchased a Theoreme box with a lizard lid. Not sure of the wood used for the construction of the box. But one of my favorites are the 3 Cygnes Vases in size PM, MM & GM.I have never seen this game set before. It reminds me of Kaplas.
