I don't own the Bouchon but seriously considered it (decided no because it was for a beach house and wouldn't wear well). I would probably stick with coasters instead of glassing it, but it all depends on the traffic in your house...if you have kids definitely glass

The Satellites are gorgeous solo or in combo (I have two, small and medium). I actually like them better than the Metier tables which are much more expensive. Funnily enough I was thinking about putting mine in the office - definitely a power table  The stone is really beautiful, and honestly the price is not at all bad vis a vis similar tables from other designers.
Lol, I am a fanatic about coasters! But somehow there is always that one visitor who manages to etch a ring on my marble countertop!

At least marble can be ground down and repolished… Leather will hold a stain for forever! IMO leather tables have a limited shelf life if you want pristine  so tread carefully with H!!!

Also, has anyone bought the bath towels? I remember seeing them before on the website. They have the lovely H embossed all over and they had it in blue, orange, white and bright pink. If you have them, are they soft to use or am I better getting it from somewhere else?

I think you are talking about the Stairs towels? I have a couple of hand towels (white and blue) in that series and although I don’t have the bath towels I figured it’s the same material / different size. They are good towels…but I wouldn’t call them “worth the price”. They are good towels but not like…10+ times better than what you can get for 10+ times cheaper, if that makes sense?

I do think the blue color is very beautiful. It’s a darker shade than what I think the web photos are. This is one of mine and it’s not new; so far it holds up through washes at least !

I’d recommend it as a gift or if you are a huge Hermes fan or if you can’t think of much else to buy :)

In terms of other homeware

- my blankets imo have held up better than pillows (piling :blah: )

- I have collected a couple sets of tableware which I find beautiful. Some of the series are dishwasher/ microwave safe, some aren’t so if you care you should check that before you decide on a series! Also at least since the pandemic tableware stock has been hard to come by so it’s hard to collect everything if you want a whole series. May need to be a bit patient!

- you can definitely find beautiful St Louis pieces. Your SA should be able to show / order them for you

- I have some of their dog stuff because what can I say I like to spoil my dogs. Are they in any way “worth the money”? Let’s just say I don’t think my dog knows Hermes :P (he has stolen and in fact chewed through an Hermes blanket though)

- generally speaking I’d say you can always find other brands that are better “value for your buck”. But they won’t be Hermes and that’s sometimes the point  the good news is I don’t think anything H would be low quality (except for some beauty items I’ve never had anything that made me think “well that was a waste of money”…) so if you are willing to pay a bit more for the brand / are a fan / are looking to branch out and build your profile…then it’s hard to go very wrong IMO so just shop for whatever catches your eye. HTH!

Here's a sneak peak of the colours I have for the living room. I'm still looking for a better lamp but the idea is to find one that can make the living room moody. The saddle box in orange would work well prolly beside the eames chair? But I need to figure out what to put on top of it so it really feels like a side table.

I cannot find the post from someone here that said our colours are rustic. I have to agree. Thinking about it now, the passafolia design might not work well the greens will be added as I'm looking for some oversized indoor plants as well. The couches will be oversized too, to fill up the space.

This is lovely. I don’t think it’s rustic. I would call it refined mid century modern with an eye towards natural color.

DH and I are in a somewhat similar position; we’re doing a gut renovation of our new second apt ( a massive Covid era deal). Our colors are also neutrals, but we went the route of French modern (Pierre Augustin Rose; The invisable Collection; Artemest; a fireplace inspired by Kolkhoze; and a danish designer Piet Boon) . I would say ( with some envy ) that you are in the ‘fun’ phase of accessorizing (whereas I am not) Congrats! I love the things you have picked so far. I think some H blankets would look amazing, not so much the Avalon, but the more patterned ones, for draping over your couch or snuggling before the fire. A dimmer on overhead lights also works wonders in terms of layering the light sources. Cannot wait to see the stuff you will pick.

by the way, if you like passifolia and it doesnt coordinate with your other items, perhaps it could be appetizer plates in the living room or den, or for tea or dessert or snacks. . . I agree with @Veritybelle re a nice tray  Hermes also makes stunningly gorgeous desk lamps ( mixed media with some leather and metal); and phenomenal desk furniture and accessories. H furniture is not priced competitively enough for us, but it is gorgeous.

ETA: another TPFer bought a modern leather covered desk by Paltrona Frau which reminds me of some Hermes pieces. One of my favorite pieces is A stunning magazine mirror screen rack ( Hermes Madison said one is still available though it is no longer on display). I think it was 50k plus, and we did better priced dressing room custom mill work instead, but it’s amazing. I also love H benches in leather and wood, but they were 30K, and significantly more than our couches. Still, it’s great to look at these things for inspiration and ideas. Hermes no longer does wallpaper, but it does do a customizable wall of leather tiles that can be configured in different ways. I think another TPFer purchased that system. . . i Wish Hermes did rugs in scarf designs, but they would probably be too expensive to walk on, more like tapestries

. I also got a pair of these pretty blue champagne flutes from Saint-Louis in Paris (they only had one at FSH and suggested we go to the SL boutique, where there were multiple colors available), and wish I had purchased more. :flowers:

Don’t you love them ? Something about the color makes them so special. I highly recommend these !

I also picked up some at FSH. We have other beautiful crystal glasses but my family always goes for these.

(One note — when shipping from FSH always check the duty calculated by the shipping carrier. The duty assessed on these was massively wrong and I had to get involved to get it re-calculated )

yes, those are beautiful!!

Can you DM me about how you got the duty corrected? I recently had a similar problem with a vintage bag and they assessed 20% duty instead of 10% and I'm trying to figure out how to correct that. Thank you!!

I will send you a PM later today since it is a bit off topic for this thread .

Or the Rocabar horse blanket could fit @7th House's interior?

I know, it's wool so not totally cozy, but am I the only one who is obsessed with it as a human blanket?

Might be biased though, because I love Rocabar and we're also slowly interior decorating our home (western ranch) right now...

I have two of the Avoine blankets and they're really nice for draping over a sofa etc. The Rocabar feels similar but has those great Rocabar colors. You can't wrap 'em around you like with the Avalon but they are good for decor. I will say both of my blankets are at H getting re-stitched, so they are not crazy robust given that they have never actually been used on a horse ;)

The mosaique line is really nice! I might be the opposite and might go with the passifolia due to the colours that will go well with the warm vibe in the home are the plates microwaveable at all?
The passifolia has a gold rim which I was told not to microwave or put in the dishwasher. The blue ones (which have been discontinued) have survived the dishwasher, although I'm not sure if they should have been in in the first place.

I also am not a fan of the Avalon blanket, it's everywhere now. Also it doesn't really make sense to have the H everywhere when nobody in my house has a H in their name, but each to their own I guess.

Hi everyone! For those of you who are into Hermes homeware, what are some of the items you'd highly recommend? Any items you regret purchasing?

We are building our new country home and the color palette is on the warm-neutral side so we got some mustard, beige, rust (warm orange tone) colours in the living room and also got light oak flooring, white walls etc. With the rooms being more neutral. High ceilings, chandelier in the entry and kitchen. Silver hardwares in the kitchen and bathrooms. Big picture windows/floor to ceiling windows in the dining and master ensuite. It's our dream home so it's quite spacious, light-filled, high ceiling type.

I wanted some items that don't scream Hermes but I'd like them to add character to some parts of the home as well. I looked at their ceramics and I'm thinking of purchasing some sets that align with the colour of the home as we will have space for them in the extended butlers kitchen. I'm contemplating if I need their throws or their blankets for the theatre room and the living room as I've watched YouTube reviews saying the blankets and throws aren't worth the money? I haven't seen them in person and I'm at least an hour away from the store so when I visit I kinda want to know what I want so I don't waste my time and the SA's time as well.

Would love your guidance xxxif yo

I would recommend having a meeting with a Maison specialist in New York, they have direct connect with the rep, you can custom order all your pieces if they are sold out. Because piece buy, it took so long to complete a collection. But yes go over the catalog and order it all at once, pay in advance so it’s secured to you. They even can do wall paper for you. As for what collection, my all time fav is Mosaic and balcon, mix and match, it’s fun not to have rules with the patterns

Yes it does have gold, but you can dish wash it!
