Hi everyone! For those of you who are into Hermes homeware, what are some of the items you'd highly recommend? Any items you regret purchasing?

We are building our new country home and the color palette is on the warm-neutral side so we got some mustard, beige, rust (warm orange tone) colours in the living room and also got light oak flooring, white walls etc. With the rooms being more neutral. High ceilings, chandelier in the entry and kitchen. Silver hardwares in the kitchen and bathrooms. Big picture windows/floor to ceiling windows in the dining and master ensuite. It's our dream home so it's quite spacious, light-filled, high ceiling type.

I wanted some items that don't scream Hermes but I'd like them to add character to some parts of the home as well. I looked at their ceramics and I'm thinking of purchasing some sets that align with the colour of the home as we will have space for them in the extended butlers kitchen. I'm contemplating if I need their throws or their blankets for the theatre room and the living room as I've watched YouTube reviews saying the blankets and throws aren't worth the money? I haven't seen them in person and I'm at least an hour away from the store so when I visit I kinda want to know what I want so I don't waste my time and the SA's time as well.

Would love your guidance xxx

The h deco teapot is beautiful but like many other ceramic or porcelain ones
you cannot rest the lid in the groove if you have a rigid loose tea strainer
and the pour both arcs wide and dribbles. But, I keep using it. Lol

i did decide to skip the dishes ( I picked hand painted machine washable Marie Daag and Hering Berlin instead)
but I adore H glassware. The oxymore collection. I think it’s modern and not too fancy.

I believe @haute okole knows a lot about H blankets

I really like the plates - I've got a full set of Mosaique platinum and Balcons that give me joy every time I use them. I also dont mind washing them by hand either.

I regret buying the passifolia pieces because they really go with nothing and they're a bit too busy for my liking. They're really pretty though.

I love their blankets, but I’m not talking about the Avalon. I prefer natural materials, such as wool and cashmere (and Yak), but I’m also in a cold climate and nothing beats warmth from animal fibers. If you are in a warmer climate, H has amazing cashmere blankets that are actually quite thin but beautifully done. You should look at them in person as photos never do them justice. Note that natural fibers such as wool and cashmere pill, they all do if you use them. If that bothers you, stick with a different material.

I do like their dishes and I’m certainly a snob when it comes to china, but in the end you need to find a pattern you love.

i have some their glassware and also like the quality and design.

Finally, I’d love some of their St Louis lamps, but they are very difficult to get.

I like the saddle box too! I was planning on using it as storage but my SA said you can take the liner out and put a little LED tea light in it for mood lighting since there are perforations along the side, which I thought was a good idea. I also just got the Saint-Louis Folia lamps and it’s one of my favorite purchases from Hermes! It’s portable so you can put it on your nightstand or move it to the dining table or patio table as needed. It comes in a light oak color or a darker brown, and the crystal casts a beautiful pattern when it’s on. I’m not sure why people don’t like the blankets. I have a few and they’re really soft and comfy, as are the throw pillows. I also got a pair of these pretty blue champagne flutes from Saint-Louis in Paris (they only had one at FSH and suggested we go to the SL boutique, where there were multiple colors available), and wish I had purchased more. :flowers:

Thank you for this! And now I'm tempted to checkout Marie Daag and Herring Berlin haha. I have never checked the glassware from hermes so this is a great suggestion. I actually have a spot in the kitchen for displays so my idea was to fill it with pieces that can be used or displayed. Would love to feast my eyes on certain corners of the home and see something delightful haha

The mosaique line is really nice! I might be the opposite and might go with the passifolia due to the colours that will go well with the warm vibe in the home are the plates microwaveable at all?

I'd love to have a look at other materials they have. That's what I found concerning because a lot of reviews on YouTube said you need a lint roller to keep the blankets in good shape as they pull quite a lot. I'm in a cold climate area, 30 minutes from the mountains so having a warm blanket in front of the fireplace is going to be a must for us.

I have never heard of the St Louis lamps before. This is very new to me! I'll keep an eye out for them as they seem to be unavailable online. Do you think this is something I can ask the SA to order for me even if I will be a new customer without a purchase history?

Is this saddle box made of the same material as the orange one above posted by ChatGPT? This looks different and is really cute! Also, glad you mentioned the lamp comes in light oak. That's pretty much the flooring we chose for the entire house to give the country home vibe throughout. Would love it if I can match some pieces here and there.

I love the Avolon blankets. Very warm and used all winter in our draft cold house. They resist pulls even when the cat sits on them and do seem to be resistant to pulls. Hermes do similar in other designs if you prefer something more discrete.

For the home and color scheme you describe @7th House , I don't think you can go wrong with some of the simple leather furniture (like the Pippa line), which almost all come in a lovely natural leather color.
I like the Bouchon stool more than using the saddle box for a table (plus the saddle box does kinda scream Hermes lol), but it's definitely more expensive  Concur that the St-Louis lanterns are lovely. H lighting overall is beautiful and under the radar.

I have the Satellite coffee tables and they are gorgeous, but as far as I know they are out of stock and over a year wait. That's France though, there may be some in the US.

For blankets, and this is JMHO, the Avalon is really played out. Way overused. I like the saddle blankets, and they are much more robust. Also, some of the double-faced cashmere scarves are gorgeous, are big enough to use on furniture, are about the same price as the Avalon AND you can wear them! I have a camel/orange one on my sofa.

I have the Passifolia tea set and some other pieces, but I have a green kitchen and the design works. With the china, it's all about a design you fall in love with. You might want to Google Gwyneth Paltrow's kitchen and how she displays her H china. It is more than a bit ostentatious ;) but it does look very pretty, and could work in your extended kitchen.

I have the folia lamp and I love it. My sa was able to snag it for me. I've seen them in the San Fran store.

I really like the different China patterns. Balcon and soleil is nice for every day. I personally love the Cheval d'orient line too.

I have one of the cashmere dip dye blankets. It's so warm and soft. My husband doesn't like the Avalon as much bc it is more scratchy.

Ahhh love the Bouchon stool! I’ve been eyeing that… do you put something on top to protect the leather if using as a side table? I have a leather sideboard and I had a glass top made for it since we use it as a server… would you recommend doing that for the bouchon? And the satellite table! I’ll have to ask my SA how long the wait is in the US. I was thinking about getting 2 Metiers chairs and a small satellite table for a nook in my office, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Glad to hear you love the table!
