No, I am only on vacation in Hawaii and I walked in to the boutique. I did buy a scarf, and the SA noticed my Dogon wallet. Plus, I had mentioned that I owned a Garden Party tote and and an older bag (name unknown) and a vintage Constance, so maybe all that helped? I actually think it was just a miracle, because I have never had close to the same luck anywhere else, and believe me, I've tried! I scoured e Hermes locations in Madrid, Paris, Las Vegas, and my own San Francisco.

I went in, looked at some new color Garden Party totes, then mentioned having one already. Then, I got a scarf and the SA noticed my Dogon wallet. I think they may have assumed I love Hermès products (which would be right!)

The SA then asked what kind of bag I was looking for (color, size, hardware) and she said they were expecting a shipment and that if there was anything she would call me.

A short while later she did and the rest, as they say, is history!

I did say that ideally I was searching for a Birkin in either 30 or 35, and when she asked if I had a color preference I said that although I love all colors, I preferred a neutral. Then she asked about hardware and I told her either gold or palladium was fine, because honestly, I do love them both. I think Hermes does a good job of pairing leathers with hardware, typically. So, anyway, that's how that went.
