We leave for Hawaii in 2 weeks. I am really debating on whether I should visit the stores or not. I really want a colorful b35 but my local boutique only ordered black and grays this year. I know 35s aren't that in demand now but does anyone know of someone that has gotten a b35 from the boutique?
It cannot hurt to ask :) have a great trip !

Honestly, I think it can hurt to ask. Hawaii doesn’t generally offer quota bags to new clients during their first vacation trip (unless perhaps they spend 2+:1, and even then…) and going in straight asking for one will likely result in an eye roll and immediate write off of a genuine relationship (especially if the client is clad in H items, making it obvious that the shopper knows the H game and has another home store).

Great point

Lol I got a lil more sense than this. I've read a lot of what not to do around these parts. I am never dripped in H. I will probably be the lady in the swin gear :P If I am not getting a warm sense I am not saying anything. No harm no foul. I think @880 meant is doesn't hurt to stop in. Its not my first time/vacation in HI or first purchase in the store.

ETA: if nothing else I will get pics of the store for my local SA. She said she'd like to see what the store looks like since I told her I was going. If I can't get pics either no big deal.

You’re bringing up an interesting point- you would recommend not wearing any Hermes when going to their store? And from your experience would it be frowned upon if someone is in fact wearing H shoes/bag?

I think the store knows that most shoppers are tourists and have other home stores. They don’t mind selling anybody non bag items. But just like any other H store in the USA, if you are going to hope for a quota/coveted bag offer, you are going to need a relationship and a purchase history with them specifically and they tend to have an unspoken rule that first time purchasers won’t get a quota bag until at least their second trip to hawaii (NOT their second visit to the store in the same week).

Totally agree with ya!

Thank you! I definitely will! We love Hawaii which is why I’m debating on whether I should go. I went to Vegas last month and didn’t go. If I go here it’s going to remind me of going daily again like we did in Paris and I don’t want to do that lol.

I’m no expert in h but I’m an expert at being me and reading the room. I don’t give in to the fear of, “I can’t do or look like x if I want a bag.” There’s really no right answer to this. The most important thing is be you and have fun - it’s shopping. If you are normally dripped out in H daily then do it. If you aren’t then don’t do it in hopes of a bag. There were some things that are said about what not to do in h in another country. I did and it worked out fine. I go with what feels comfortable for me. I left with a b and no appointment when others said it wouldn’t happen. I was also carrying my constance at the time. As the lovely @880 always say YMMV.

I'm going to HI next week, I plan on checking out the store, and I plan on carrying my B and wearing H shoes. I haven't been in the HI Store before, but in my experience visiting stores outside of my home store while on vacation, I may not have been offered a quota bag, but I've been offered bags (Picotin, Jypsiere). I don't go in asking for one, I've asked for and bought shoes, twillies etc, and the SA WANTs to offer a bag after knowing I will buy in different departments. My SA at my home store has always said when on vacation, of course go visit the local store, as long as I am loyal to her at home, which I am.

Gotcha. I guess my question was more around should I be mindful of what I’m wearing, if I happen to drop by the store. I’m definitely going to be wearing my santorinis and maybe a bag / Kelly belt but that’s because it’s genuinely my go tos for summer looks. And I would prefer not to plan my outfits around whether I will be going to H or not that day lol.
