Hermes gift certs

Okay, new question:

If you buy an Hermes gift certificate, hold on to for a few weeks, and then go and buy yourself a new purse with it, who gets the commission or credit for selling the bag?

The SA who sold you the bag, or the SA who sold you the gift cert?

I would think it would be whoever sold the gift certificate. That is when money changed hands.

I don't know what is the correct answer but I think the SA who sold you the bag will get the credit. Most stores don't consider a sale has taken place when a gift cert was bought. The sale is counted when gift cert is used. Since it doesn't really take that much effort to sell anyone a gift cert and it definitely takes more effort to sell a merchandise, I'm led to think that the credit will go to the SA who sold the bag/item.
