So stubborn me tried my luck in Florence today 
I went queuing just before 12 - the outside queue moved quickly BUT once you get in, expect another 1-2 hours wait for the assigned SA.
Stock wise, not many shoes available. I have only managed to buy a calvi duo and a 70x70 scarf.
I haven’t seen anyone managed to get bags. A lot of them left empty handed.

My suggestion is for you to go into Hermes & be yourself. You shouldn't have to have an
aura about you. SA's have an antenna up about that, JMO
This is my suggestion on how to get a warm introduction while shopping abroad…. And it worked. I have been back to the store many times
Staying at a $$$$ hotel & asking a concierge to make an intro is no guarantee
to getting the bag of your choice
Just as easy to walk into H & be yourself without any pretense, JMO & we all have different
approaches that can work..

Strategy is not always successful, being realistic is LOL
We can agree to share our experiences with gaining an appointment at Hermes
but at the end of the day, being oneself with no pretense seems right to me, JMO
FYI, your smart strategy would not be successful if you were in Paris
be it at The Ritz, George V, The Peninsula as concierges are not encouraged to make appointments
as it is strictly done by the lottery system
