I received my navy Tulipomanie triangle yesterday. The design and colors are beautiful but strangely enough it is not instant love 🙃

I do not know if it is the scale of the flowers, or the almost identical colors of my La Selle Imaginaire….

I will give it some time, but I might try out the grey Tulipomanie (with the neon flowers) before pulling the trigger on this design.

Thank you! You must have an amazing memory. Yes, this is definitely outside my usual colour choices although I did wear orange or red occasionally when I was young.

This looks great on you. But…..When curating and trying to not let collection get too large I think it’s important to keep similar colors in mind when picking a new addition. I agree this has the same colors with the pink on navy background with white hem. When tied up it’s similar enough that would make me say no to this triangle.
Now there are some that would say this color scheme looks amazing on you so get in both a 140 and a triangle. I can see that too. But I would see if any other color schemes of tulipomanie work .
These are indeed your colors, but I think selles is the winner due to the great patterns and stripes in it. It’s magic.

I do not mind collecting shawls with similar colours, which is rather logical if the colours are right for you. But this Triangle is so similar that I have second thoughts… and I do indeed believe that out of the two, I prefer the Selle on me…

I guess I will have to try some different cws 😊

Thank you for the pics! Very pretty! I actually didn’t register that the last mod shot was of Selle - they do look similar indeed. I think CSGM is more versatile if to choose between the two. Having said that, there are a couple of very pretty monochrome CWs of Tulips - black and white and also brown/taupe with navy.. I don’t think anyone posted the mods yet though..

I do love the design and am very, very tempted, but not sure if it is worth the $ investment for me.. decisions decisions…

I also just ordered the navy Tulipomanie giant triangle, and also have the navy Selles CGSM which is one of my favorites! So in the same boat---hoping that the I will still love the GT even though the colorways are so similar.

Thanks for this thought @redheaddem ! My Navy Tulipomanie should arrive tomorrow and I have that CSGM as well. This similarity never occurred to me. Honestly I really wanted the green/coral Tulipomanie Triangle but it disappeared from my cart so the Navy was my second choice. I’m pretty sure I will just wait it out and hope ithe coral shows up on the H site again.

@redheaddem I think @Nomad is spot on here. Had I the CSGM, I’m not sure I’d duplicate the colors with a triangle; they’re just too close. This is one of the dilemmas posed by Hermes’ seemingly new strategy of repeating similar cws across adjacent seasons.

How interesting - you’re right, it’s almost identical in cw to our Selle Imaginaire! It’s lovely but I’ll also have to think about whether it’s different enough to warrant getting it in this cw.

@MAGJES My SA has kept this green/coral for me to try on as it’s the only one that has arrived in store. Not sure about that oat base on me but here’s a picture if it’s any help.
