Up til yesterday, I’d been very sad about Emile en Nuit this season. I really like the design and wanted one of the colorways to work but it was like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears: ‘this one’s too muted, that one’s too similar to something else I have’ etc etc.

I’d never even clicked into this cw or considered it and then a mod shot from @LKBNOLA sent me on a quest to try it on. And I’m so besotted! It makes me feel like a character in Alice in Wonderland.

I was very inspired by @julian.f ‘s image of the versatility of her d’Orphee shawl. I don’t know that this pic is as successful but it can pair with red, burgundy, navy and prob also lighter blues, plum purple, rust, beiges and even maybe a green. Essentially the majority of my autumn and winter wardrobe, I’m stoked.

YES YES YES!!!! THIS is magical on you!

What a beautiful and versatile colourway! It looks amazing with your colouring!

I am SOOOOO delighted for you @Jereni!!! Although I first got the etheral and lovely pale blue, I knew I would add this one the minute I heard there was one with a "craie" background. Then the beautiful blues, rouge and neutral colors sealed the deal (not to mention the hem!) It is a magical design. Whimsical, fun and the artwork is amazing. I did not know until I read some background recently that Jamin is also a children's book illustrator, so your Alice in Wonderland feeling is spot on!
It does go beautifully with your fall sweaters and now you can try pairing it with all the bags in your collex, too!

Thrilled to be scarf twins with both of you! When I read the description of the Rouge H, Blue, and Craie colorway, I thought, ‘These are so my colors.’ It was such an appealing combination that I couldn’t resist reserving it at the store. I absolutely love the design and the endless possibilities it offers, but since it’s a busy pattern, I feel like on me, it’s a bit overpowering :-s. For that reason, I’ve ended up using the Rose Thé CW more often. Thank you, Jereni, for sharing your photo with all the styling possibilities—you’ve inspired me to give them a try :flowers:

I really love this design and I really love this CW for you! It suits you so well and will clearly work with a large part of your wardrobe, which is always major plus point with any new acquisition. Remembering you trying on the Orphee in an not all too different CW, I was wondering why this is just so much better for you - as it seems to make you glow. Maybe it is the lighting (that always makes a difference) but I'm beginning to think it is the naturel background of Orphee that dulls down the already somewhat subdued tones of the shawl. It still looks lovely, but this piece just shines on you! Congrats! What a great acquisition :flowers:

I do have both and I agree the lighting did the shawl no favors as it is quite lovely -- harmonious with pops of bright blue but there is something about the craie background in silk twill that is absolutely luminous. I think that is such a good observation @julianf. I have one other design with that background and it has the same indescribable luminosity...H color magic at work!

Happy Monday, boys and girls! I took my chances with All’Orto Botanico (cw6) as I was absolutely mesmerised with the mod shots posted by @GloWW0rM and @FA73. The shawl is absolutely stunning but sadly the colours didn’t work for me IRL (I do like headless mod shots though:smile:) Still, the piece is fabulous - if you find a CW that works for you, it is a dream! Posting a few mod shots in case anyone is interested.
PS I think it is more blue/purplish ink IRL (while on pics it might look more black.)

It is beautiful! This reminds me of one color of Faubourg tropical 140, but without the little golden hue here and there from the flagship building in that design.

Thank you, dear FA. I think I will take a pass on it. This is the CW I liked the most. My mom saw me trying it on and her verdict was: “This scarf makes you look OLD!” Perhaps this is the gris de chine base that isn’t my friend in general and other CWs could potentially look better - I don’t know. Albeit, my collection is over-saturated at this point so it is a relief that I don’t have to add another one to the pile:)

This is the CW I liked the most too and I am glad it worked for me. I hope you keep sharing your collection with us, you are my "reference library" for CSGMs, particularly the vintage ones!

I’m laughing at your comment because I reserved this one, went to the store on Saturday, and tried it on. I love, love, love this colorway! But my SA and the SA of the silk métier both said it wasn’t for me—not luminous enough, apparently. Because I’m stubborn and really liked it, I snapped a couple of photos while in the store and sent them to my mom and dad. The funny part? They said exactly your mom’s words: ‘That scarf makes you look old.’ And we definitely don’t want that! Lesson learned: when your SA and your parents agree, it’s time to move on (even if your heart says otherwise)!
I left the store with the green CW instead 😜

That’s hilarious! I do trust my mom’s opinion as she has zero political correctness and will tell me things as they are:) - but have to give credit to the SAs! I actually thought that this CW would look great on you as you can carry purple and violet so well (and I can’t), but I am glad you found an alternative! Please post mod shots when you have a chance!

Thanks for this "collage". I have this colourway & it's nice to get additional ideas for top colours to wear with it. I tend to pair all my scarfs with black so this is really useful.

Thank you - yes as @LKBNOLA said, the boutique lighting really did the shawl no favors and then on top of that I took the pics of the 90 in flattering late afternoon light lol. The shawl was very tempting in person.
