Dear Scarfies, I was at the Madison store on the weekend to pick up some other items and see some silks too. I came away with two of the CS gavroche, which I have been curious about. I was concerned they might be itchy to wear that close to the skin but I was pleasantly surprised that is not the case and also how nicely they drape. They are the very definition of a pop of warmth without bulk!

I am also pleased that I have neither design in other formats so it was nice to add these small versions.
I did also succumb to the charming 70 -- Palonniers (02)-- enabled by @Emma1132. I couldn't resist wearing it right away...
Palonniers (02).jpg
And finally, I am adding another photo of the brown cw of Roarr to the mix. Please forgive the boutique lighting. The colors are lovely and I tried to find the corner that would allow me to "unsee" the suggestion that the mane might resemble a beard when tied!
The blue was also available but because I have a blue Awoooo I did not try it. The orange cw was hanging on the wall and the chartreuse was not available. This is a very beautiful soft brown piece and as @Ashanti_Rose pointed out, has a resemblance to Les
Ailes de Pegase in that cw.

I hope this post is helpful. And now I am just waiting like so many of us for the Orto Botanico and a few others to arrive!

Dear everybody

I am not sure if this has been posted yet, but here is Roaaaaar! By Alice Shirley (100 cm, cs, men’s scarf) in cw 01 chartreuse/vert foncé/caramel. It is a keeper 😊

I am coming in late to the chorus here @redheaddem but I think I come down with @GabrielleS and @luckystar and the other members in their opinion that the piece itself is stunning as a grey scale version and looks beautiful and elegant on black, charcoal grey etc. To me the design in and of itself is inherently elegant and painterly and not really casual in the same way the bright 90 versions are. This neutral does work with the colors, too of course, but for casual looks, I think you can find much better neutral options. I would love to see the caramel monochrome cw on you and the other colorful one (lilac) that was mentioned. I would also factor in cost per wear as @Nomad mentioned.

Dear @Ashanti_Rose , @Nomad and @bunnycat thank you for your very thoughtful and interesting remarks. I do think that "context" is a major factor and as you point out, we often just see a sliver of it, or limited options. I loved the conceptualization that not everything in our closets is a drop dead wowza item and that you can still have a range of beautiful things. An army needs not only a colonel but some soldiers too, after all! The scarf community here always makes me think more carefully about the process, so thank you all....

I love love love this Lettres Equestres 08 @Pivoine66 and add my congratulations to the rest! And what could be better than a piece your DH loves on you? I am always delighted when scarf delight is shared at my house :winkiss: ! I really love the balance of the tones on this cw and I think that despite those colors that are outside of your usual comfort zone, the overall effect is of a very elegant neutral. It was recently suggested to me, when I expressed reservations about one aspect of a shawl, that I add an accessory that honors that color. I did take that suggestion and bought a roulis bracelet in bright "jaune de naples" -- not something I would normally pick!!! and yet, it made all the difference when I wore it. It seemed to add a sense of intentionality to the outfit, if that makes sense... In any case, I love this shawl and have it on my list to look at as well now!

My first Multiquote - and it seems to work
@HermesEchidna: Your photos were my inspiration that I really wanted to buy the Lion Roaaaaar! scarf in this CW ... although on me - like a different one ...
and @LKBNOLA : I like Roaaaaar! so much - on you, too!
Yes to "shared scarf delight", as you put it so beautifully. I love it when DH chooses a scarf because every time I wear it I can see his joy in his eyes, which makes it extra special for me.
What a lovely idea to use one of the 'different' colours in an accessory/bracelet to make it look intentional! I will definitely try that.
And your new little scarf treasures: so much inspiration again. The little CS are beautiful on you! A cashmere size I don't have yet... - Oh no! My 'new sensible me' says: No more Fomo! Especially as everything looks so great on you and not necessarily on me... Something I have learnt a few times in the last few years ;)

Gorgeous addition! It is a classically looking design which will go with everything and had a lot of volume in it! Enjoy it!
Thank you, dear Ashanti_Rose. I like this design very much, too. And that is has Black! in it. (In recent years my favourites have mostly been with dark blue, which I really like and enjoy wearing, but I still wear more black, camel, cream ... and mostly black purses).

Thank you @Pivoine66. I did leave the Roaarr behind. I have already some lovely options in that format but who knows if my menagerie will expand...

These have been shown before but I'm just so delighted, I had to share. The orange MF is lovely and just hits all the perfect notes for me. I also succumbed to the terracotta Orphee. Thank you to @ShadowComet and @LKBNOLA for the enablement- glad to be twins with you.

They are both stunning on you @BlueLilac -- I am delighted to be twins on the shawl and sisters on MF. Two outstanding designs of the season IMO. Congratulations! Your drape of the shawl and the beautiful half bow on the 90 really make both pieces shine!

And thank you! As to Palonniers-- I had been eyeing the Stately Wheels design in a similar coloration but I really did not want to duplicate that design and when @Emma1132 showed hers I immediately asked to see it! Many 70s are cute or whimsical designs but I love the classic ones, too like Pampa and this and some others...and Roaaar is safely in its cage on Madison Avenue. Not ready to decide on that one...

Your MF is fabulous! What a gorgeous CW and a hot knot to show it off- congrats!

Oh dear! This is beginning to haunt me - in a good way. I am now doubly tempted by the Terra Cotta Orphee! I devoured @LKBNOLA’s mod shots, and now yours, @BlueLilac! I have the blue Botanical 140 on a list with my SA, and finally succumbed to the navy Tulipomanie GT, which I love! I packed it, and my new Precious Paradise 45 in the Bleu Gris along with the navy silk jacquard lozenge (I’m not sure if the lozenge is from this season or many seasons ago - any intel is appreciated) I’m on my way to Nantucket. This will be my first time visiting this historical island and we are meeting up with friends for what promises to be a stimulating time at a multi-day event listening to various speakers and connecting people with people. Anyway, I seem to be adding mostly to the blue part of my collection this season, but in formats other than 90’s, so I’m happy about that. I will try to show some pics in the coming few days. Thank you these photos of the Orphee!
