I’m starting to wonder about the wearability of this cw/design. I have concerns that I like looking at it but perhaps won’t feel as comfortable wearing it bc of how vivid and bright it is. Anyone else feel this way?

Are people raging about it from a collectors perspective or from a wearable perspective or both?

For me, it's both. Jewel-tone colors are what works best with my complexion so it's amazing to get a scarf like this. They go well with my wardrobe and my style, so I have no concerns wearing them and, in fact, super love that about La Vallee de Cristal. There are tons of other designs with muted cws that are beautiful but makes me look sallow as all get out.

I'm going to wear and display my unicorns! 🦄

Good point:smile: I think the answer is "it depends on who is wearing it and with what one is wearing it". IMO, this designs is a stand out by itself, so it would call for a minimalistic wardrobe choices to showcase it - think about pairing it with all black or all white outfits with accessories to match, like a painting which would look best on a blank wall. It is not a good candidate for pattern on pattern mixing, sweaters with patterns or prints, etc.. It is most likely not an everyday kind of scarf, rather a special occasion accessory.

I love the CW you have - I didn't expect to, but I ordered it and fell in love with it when I matched it with my black motocycle leather jacket.. It looked like a knockout as it burst with color and spiced the heavier leather look. In your mod shots, you are trying it with dark charcoal shirt - IMO maybe not a good match (apologies - just being honest). Try pairing it with black and white. Also, I think it benefits from looser ties, and aguably looses some of its appeal by knotted in tight knots.
No need to apologize on the charcoal grey!! I agree completely and probably should have changed before trying it on.

Envisioning with a black leather jacket does sound like it would look fabulous! I should probably try it on again with things I’d actually wear it with before making a decision.

I'd pair this CW with darker neutrals too (aside from white), I think this particular CW is meant to be your pop of colour. :)

My online order finally arrived!
Clair de Lune shawl 140 in Vert Émeraude / Gris Chiné
I put my Kelly Double Tour bracelet in Vert Moyen (lizard) / Vert Émeraude (alligator) on it for a color comparison.

Hermes’ green colors are so beautiful that it has made me into a fan of the color green ❤️

This green is gorgeously lush, so beautiful! Thanks for sharing and enjoy~

Oh wow, both look like they are made for you! I love the purple and green tones in the En Liberté, and the Claire de lune is so vibrant in that pretty red. I actually like it a lot on the pink sweater ;)

What is the 3th cw of Claire de lune that you’ve been eyeing? Not the green perhaps? Would love to see that one
Thanks so much @redheaddem
hmm now that you mention it red and pink is a nice unexpected pairing
the other CW is the navy blue with pink
It looks cool with pink and is so pretty.
thank you @Maedi ❤️

Yesterday’s boutique haul. These have all been modeled I believe but happy to post more mod shots if it helps someone decide between cws or just see them on someone else. @Ladybaga you swayed me on the neutral cw just so you know. Thanks for your posts!!

Ditto.

@Critzie. I was super interested in this design and colorway because I thought it would be very versatile and would go with many colors (solid jewel tones). I envisioned it as a throw on and go. Easy peasy.

+1 to this too - I totally agree. I picked this up at the weekend (I put my name down for it months ago), and it was love at first sight: both to look at AND to wear. I love the colours and find it very easy to wear, but I can see that it would depend on your colouring. Everything I tried after it seemed dull by comparison. It’s not to everyone’s taste, but it’s certainly a showstopper!

I vote not super wearable.
I think there are ways to play with it like mentioned with the leather jacket and having a bit peek all up and out. Or in a bias fold laid down with an inch or two peeking out along the lapel of a black blazer and plain skirt or pant. But day to day wear, or as a throw and go, I am just not seeing it, at all. It walks into the room first, and personally I don’t like that on me. I like to think of our silk accessories as a way to enhance our outfit or compliment ourselves ( our face). I feel very uncomfortable if my outfit or a piece of my outfits walks in first with such gusto as vallee.
And also personally think this design needs long ties and not up all tight in knots. My two cents
But collector wise it’s amazing!!

You said it well, dear @Nomad - and I love your expression about Vallee as "gusto" (just brilliant:) . It is not an everyday scarf to wear on a supermarket run and would not work for everyone just the same. One must be comfortable to make a statement with it and probably would require appropriate "packaging" - aka hair, make up and the rest of the outfit; otherwise, it would look odd at best.

And on the same page re: tight knots - it is a KISS scarf (keep it simple).
