I have mine for over a year now and still love it. But fwiw, I haven't really sold anything in my H collection yet so not sure if I'm representative (Maybe I just tend to hold on to things?!?!) I do love DC elan tho, a very practical one for me.
Thank you!! Your original post over a year ago on what fits in your elan really piqued my interest in this bag :)

They are fairly easy to get and sell for under retail on the resale market. If you really don’t want it, your best bet is to return it. Also, I don’t recommend buying things you don’t want as a way to connect with the SA. It misleads them on your tastes and shopping habits. It also counts against your leather ratio and will likely cause you to have to prespend more to balance it out before getting what you actually want.
Ha I guess my store just doesn’t get them. I’ve gotten a Kelly 25 and Kelly elan and my SA still can’t get me an elan. I own two resale but would like one from the store.

For those with DC elan (specifically elan!), do you still love it? Do you plan on keeping it “forever”? The resell value isn’t great on it but I love the look, though it seems to be a bag people either love or really think looks like a 🍑 which is so cute imo! Thank you!!
It is one of my favorite H bags. I have two and considering a 3rd. It’s so funny to me because my SA just doesn’t get them and has gotten me a Kelly 25, Kelly elan, Evelyn, picotin, and p’tit arcon but still can’t get me a Della elan lol

Wow that’s so helpful to know. Thank you for sharing that you love it so much you are considering a 3rd! I’ve seen it on H.com this year, which wasn’t the case last year. Good luck hunting!!

I got the Elan from my SA. It wasn’t hard since it’s a new bag and not a quota but depending on the color of choice may take awhile. The Mini I got online, both sizes pop up every now and then (US site). For clarification, I have the IPhone 15 Pro Max with case. If you have a smaller phone then could fit the mini. Both style are cute, can’t go wrong with either. Oh also, the mini now has a mini II. The new version flap is different.
@KimSeokjin’s Wife Does the mini or mini II fit the iPhone pro max? Thanks

Late to the party - and of course after multiple price increases I’ve joined the Della Club with an
Ardoise PHW Elan
When this style first came out, my SA discouraged me saying this bag looked too much like Gucci- but now after several years he’s come to like it more- and thought I ought to add one to my collection - I love Ardoise, so there is that 😂[]6138044[/ATTACH]IMG_2801.jpegIMG_2802.jpegIMG_3643.jpeg

What a gorgeous colour! It looks great styled with that jacket and the CW of the Tigre Carousel.

I, too, arrived late to the party...and, when I did, I decided to party hard by purchasing two in a span of less than a month. I was, like many, DC Elan curious. I love the IYKYK aspect of the bag (with the added bonus of feeling safer carrying it in some places). The fact that its crossbody option works better than my C24 (it sits lower)...and, despite being a 22cm bag (versus Constance 24), it actually holds more because of its depth. For every day, it's just brilliant. I wish I had arrived earlier, but so happy I eventually made it!

FYI for those looking to source, lately H.com has been a goldmine (at least in Europe).

Love! Love! Love! I actually prefer it to my Ks, Bs, Cs for day-in/day-out wear. My 2 DC Elans are my only two bags in Epsom (pretty good for the weather where I'm located), they hold the daily necessities plus a bit (I do carry a cardholder & not a wallet, though a small wallet would fit). I don't buy bags for resale value but to use them, to have them fit my needs. And the DC Elan does that beautifully while definitely remaining under the radar (big plus for me).

I really appreciate the pocket on the back, where I can put public transport cards/parking garage cards, etc. for immediate access. Even a slim phone would work (popsocket or thick case may make it stretch out too much). The adjustable strap is great, because it goes crossbody for casual/daywear looks and can be adjusted to various lengths up to a high shoulder bag for the evening. I will be honest in saying that some colors of the Elan are better than others for evening looks. Clearly, when I say evening it's for a dinner/dinner party/etc. not a gala or somewhere very formal. But it really is a great allrounder. I've received a lot of compliments, I was rather surprised. So if you love the look and want a good allrounder, my vote is yes (if you couldn't tell that already).

Only 2 things would make the Elan even better (1) inside pocket somewhat deeper, as it is rather shallow but suffices and (2) if the strap was removable in some way, which would also make it a great evening clutch. But you can carry it with the strap off your shoulder. And, no, it really doesn't look like a derriere...

As for resale value, way back when I bought several Picotins. Not great resale value on those, at least then. They lingered for a while in my closet when I realised they were no longer my style. And I ended up selling them, about 10 or so years later, and didn't lose any money on them as they were well kept (I actually turned a small profit). They seem to be all the rage lately. Although DC Elans may not generate the resale hype that B/K/Cs do, you may very well get nearly or all your money back. And you never know how they're going to be perceived years on.
