Hermès Della Cavalleria Bag

I got a Della cav elan gold/gold from my local store recently and torn on whether to keep it. Wasn’t really on my list of things I want (Constance, Birkin, mini Lindy), but seems like a practical bag (and very pretty) and wanted to make connection with salesperson. Thoughts on whether this style is becoming more coveted and something I’d regret letting go of? Realize it isn’t going to be a QB level desirable, but if it’s not generally well received and going to remain the “easy get”, not sure I want to keep. Seems very easy to get in Europe right now.

They are fairly easy to get and sell for under retail on the resale market. If you really don’t want it, your best bet is to return it. Also, I don’t recommend buying things you don’t want as a way to connect with the SA. It misleads them on your tastes and shopping habits. It also counts against your leather ratio and will likely cause you to have to prespend more to balance it out before getting what you actually want.

If that’s the case, then I would toss it back. IMO only, I prefer the original as a cuter bag. I dislike the new one’s strap attachment. But, in general the Della cavalleria is not difficult to find, and a better connection (if one calls it that) can be made with an SA with a non leather item. JMO, YMMV

Thanks for your response. Shocked it actually works against me! I’m clearly a newbie at this “game”.

Congrats! I recently, saw Blue Glacier in person and it’s such a gorgeous color! I used to think I would never like blue but after a year and a half down the H rabbit hole, I realized Hermes selects very unique colors and they always have a way with shifting tone under different lights.

Just got a mini DC epsom in Mauve Sylvestre. Best little workhorse ever! The interior pocket holds two passports, the main compartment holds an iPhone 14pro, small wallet, lipstick and sunglasses out of the case. Holds more than C18 reissue with mirror. It got rained on several times when we visited Paris. No damage to the leather. Lightweight, lays flat on your body both crossbody and shoulder carry and it felt secure with the magnetic strap. I think I will travel with this in lieu of my K28 or B30. I think it’s a better and safer option than the Mini Evelyne which has the open top (to avoid pickpockets). Super cute bag!

I am interested in this color too… but How do you find the colour? Is it quite bright and hard to match clothing? I am not sure how bright this is but the color looks quite saturated so not really a neutral…?

It’s a beautiful soft pink with a hint of lilac purple undertones. I wear it with Navy, White, black, caramel brown, lilac, dark purple, soft blue, green, and grey. It’s a lovely chameleon color that H is known for. It’s a very pretty color. I have not worn it with red as of yet but that should not be an issue (Valentine’s Day holiday color scheme lol). Overall, it has been quite versatile.

For those with DC elan (specifically elan!), do you still love it? Do you plan on keeping it “forever”? The resell value isn’t great on it but I love the look, though it seems to be a bag people either love or really think looks like a 🍑 which is so cute imo! Thank you!!

I have mine for over a year now and still love it. But fwiw, I haven't really sold anything in my H collection yet so not sure if I'm representative (Maybe I just tend to hold on to things?!?!) I do love DC elan tho, a very practical one for me.
