Does anyone have tips on how to purchase online? Every time I go on the website and hit refresh then pops new bags just got posted. I go into the bag and add to cart, "Oops ! The selected object is no longer available." But then the add to cart button still available. I have an android phone and it's a bummer, they only have add to cart or Apple Pay.
I took one tip from a page or two back someone say keep refreshing until the add to cart is no longer available. Been doing that to try my luck. I just don't understand how it is sold out as soon they are posted. I know Hermès website monitor for bots, but I just don't understand.
Unfortunately I think it’s a good and bad that we can’t understand how their site works. It’s good in the sense that hopefully it deters folks from creating bots to purchase from the site. But it’s bad due to folks here are unable to purchase as easily as prior years.
I think it’s purely based on luck at this point. Even I couldn’t purchase any “bag” related item, except for a bride-a-brac case on the site within the past two weeks.
I don’t mean to come off rude or off-topic. Maybe this could be sticky worthy?
Hope this doesn’t come off as sarcasm but here are my tips based off how I was able to make bag purchases online, your mileage may vary and do keep note that bots may or may not be purchasing anything, sometimes it’s just a non-member (or a member who may not wish show-off?) who may have bought the goods you had your eye on.
1. I find it helpful to create an online account with my billing, shipping, and card info already in there. (If you don’t have one, make one. If you can’t get your address and card info on there, buy something online and return it).
2A. Have the item (specs, size, color you’re okay with) in mind and make your decision to buy it in the blink of an eye. If you see the item, add to cart and check out via Apple Pay or regular input process.
2B. Have a general idea of what you want to buy (specs, size, color, bag line, etc). If you see it. Checkout ASAP return later if you don’t want it.
2C. I guess it’s more buy now think later?
2D. Return online, you may be refunded via card method used ti pay. Return to store and your lovely SA now has a piece to sell to someone who may actually want it (and you get store credit to use at Hermes [at least that’s how it is in the USA]). I personally do return to my SA so my mind is like “maybe I helped my community somehow someway” plus less risky of the carrier losing the parcel and I shop with my SA regularly anyway, just some stuff I may never see in the store.
3A. If you have multiple devices connected to the internet and you use it to look at stuff for Hermes (ie you, your husband, your entire family are browsing Hermes.com at the same time, you may likely be blocked due to same IP browsing the site or too quickly).
3B. Having multiple tabs and refreshing will do the same as 3A.
4. There may be limits to what you can purchase online per “season” as I experienced this when I purchased a SO black alligator rodeo and SO black Pegasus. (I called customer service and that’s what they said, so YMMV). I asked my SA and asked if she could keep me in mind since .com cancelled my SO black Pegasus order since it was the latest rodeo order at the time. In the end I still got 1 SO black rodeo via .com and 1 SO black Pegasus from SA within the season (span of Hermes 6 months I think?)
5. This is super important!!
This threat is completely amazing, with an abundance of information. If you have the time to shop online, you’ve got time to read through the threads and formulate your “plan.”
Everyone has different experiences and while a quick tip or solution would be great, just think about how many others here and not on this forum are in your situation.
6. All else fails, ask an SA about the piece and sometimes (this only happened to me once) they will order it for you (I think they pretty much went on their device and saw what was coming in and claimed it for them to sell to me).
I hope this was a little bit helpful and I do apologize if I said anything “salty”! If this is not acceptable by all means delete, thanks and wishful shopping!
