Happy online shopping

Louis Vuitton has complimentary shipping for orders off their website (at least here in Canada). It irks me that Hermes doesn't do the same - I think they should - at the very least for orders over a certain dollar amount.

I read their policy on the website, and from what I understand, in store pick up of online orders is made available/offered as an option for locations that qualify for this delivery arrangement. As to which locations qualify, I know not how H determines it.

From EU H website:

"For collection in store:
It is possible to collect the items you have ordered on Hermes.com in-store. This service, offered to Hermes.com customers, is currently only available in selected stores. While completing your order, the option of in-store collection may be offered, according to your billing address.
You can also designate a third party to come and collect your order in-store (see “Time required for delivery and collection”)."

Many thanks for this :flowers:

I wonder how a store is selected to be one of the boutiques that offers in-store pick-up of H.com orders. I also wonder what the lag time would be to take delivery this way, since the item has to be sent to the boutique. And I wonder if our local SA would be able to receive credit for the sale.

I'm pretty sure the credit will be with H.com

Hi papertiger, I bought a few twillys from the uk site a few months ago, and selected the option to collect in store. And received a call from an SA a few days later to let me know the twillys are in. I didnt have to pay for shipping either. Hope this helps. :smile1:

I wanted to buy the Clic clac online at hermes germany website now and ask my girlfriend to collect it for me when she flies over to Munich next week. Does anyone knows if I can get her to claim the tax refund for the online purchase?

Any inputs or advice is much appreciated.

I've been perusing the H.com websites of various countries, and I notice the selections are very, very slim.

Is there a magic date when new items pop up? Is this because of the holidays?

Thanks anyone! :smile1:

A lull in January is common... sigh... I expect the "inventory" to pick up in February... but, as always, H.com inventory is spotty at best...

Alternatively... the selection in December seemed to be geared for shopping for the holidays, imo... and I enjoyed the window shopping... :smile1:

Thanks for the glimmer of hope, NM!

Since I live in Maryland, I'd much rather pay $35 or $45 for delivery than to pay sales tax in the boutiques. I've actually saved hundreds of dollars in just the course of one year by ordering online.

I agree trying to save money counts! But I live in Canada so our sales tax rules are different and there is no tax advantage to ordering on line. I'm not sure but i thought the sales tax rules were changing in the US - a lot of bricks and mortar retailers have been complaining for a long time about this being an unfair advantage for online retailiers (or the laws may change depending on which state you live in - anyways I just remember hearing something about this (I used to work in tax so my ears prick up on news about tax issues) you might want to check it out to see if the rules are changing in your area. Anyways, for me its more of a convenience, I have mobility issues and its very tiring to shop in store. And If LV can give complimentary shipping (its 3 days too) I don't see why Hermes can't.
