I just got my first clic H bracelet and though I'm not a bracelet person and usually don't usually buy costume jewellery I truly love it...I bought it as a test before buying a Love and found it really comfortable and so lovely!

I got the gold plated narrow narrow one in white and it really looks like a luxury accessory, not cheap at all. I know it can seem expensive but I think it's worth it quality wise.

I also have a leather Hermes bracelet that I bought years ago and it still looks like new. I don't wear it very often and always store it in it's Hermes pouch but still am surprised how good it looks after several years.

If you hesitate between a leather bracelet and a Clic H I would suggest that you get a clic H first if you intend to wear it often, and it's also easier to dress up :smile1:
Thanks for your input!

Although I do love the Clic H bracelet if I had a little bit over $650 (thats including tax) to spend for jewelry I'm going to stick with something thats pure gold and not just dipped in gold.

Also I'll look into leather bracelets- I never thought about them, but they seem fun to wear too!

I can see your understanding and reasons not to buy Hermes clic H bracelet! I bought one several years ago after I saw a thread in Hermes on clic clac! I was immediately taken away by the thin, black enamel and enamel H! The next day I went to my local Hermes boutique and picked one up! The price tag was hefty since the enamel H is more rarer. Im glad I made my purchase and have understood that luxury designer goods are always and will be EXPENSIVE for their exclusiveness. GL on your decision.

I totally understand why luxury designer goods are expensive- they aren't made in sweatshop overseas- they are made by skilled artisans who are knowledgeable about the said item. I know several people will say that T&Co's jewelry is overpriced but I enjoy their design and knowing its from T&CO :)

But- for something thats just dipped in gold- I'm not going to spend over $650 (including tax). I would rather purchase an Hermes scarf :)

Thanks for your input!

Re: pearls- I've also been told that since they're just on a cotton string you need to get them restrung often. I took a look at the Pearls By the Yard collection and although it was nice- it didnt have the wow factor I was hoping for. Also the chain is pretty thin.

Do you own any Hermes scarves? How do you care for them? I've read a post about it but I'm not sure if I should hand wash my Twilly (with cold water) or if I should take it and get it dry cleaned via Hermes- but I think I was told it would take 6 weeks? Or maybe at least 3.

Oh I SO wish I did have an Hermes scarf! Lol! But I do have several silk scarves because I love them. I wash mine by hand and lay them flat to dry. I'm not sure if I'd have the nerve to do that with Hermes, though. Lol! I believe there are some threads in the Hermes forum about how to care for them.

A good string of pearls should be strung with silk string, which is considerably stronger than cotton. I'm not sure how often they would need to be restrung but I'm guessing that would depend on how often they're worn. I would google it and see what the experts say.

I absolutely LOVE my H clic bracelets! I was able to get a black/ghw, white/ghw and orange /ghw in Honolulu this last spring. I reach for them all the time. Check out the stacking threads on the Hermes forum and you'll be hooked. Yes, it's a lot of money for designer fashion jewelry, but they are so versatile. I have a tiny wrist and also love that they come in both gm and pm sizes.

There no such thing as pure gold bracelet for $650.00, much as I wish there was. If you wanted something like a clic-clac bangle in pure 14 or 18K gold, solid, you'd be looking upwards of $5,000.

I will say, I bought my first clic-clac not too long ago - and the quality is really pretty nice.

Tiffany's has bracelets that are in gold about that price area- granted they aren't bangle-like such as the Clic H- but as I stated earlier- for something thats just dipped in gold- I'm not going to spend over $500 for it.

If I loved Hermes and really wanted to buy something Hermes then sure- but I think for that $610 budget- almost $700 with tax, I would buy an Hermes scarf.
I have really sensitive skin so depending on the metal thats inside the bracelet I might end up with an annoying reaction every so often :P Although I do know that gold is whats going to be touching my wrist- but still, the metal itself is who knows what (actually one of the SA that helped me didnt know- she only knew that it wasn't lead).

You can find gold bangles for around $650. I just looked it up on amazon. They won't be designer, but you can find plenty of options for that price. Now I can't see whether these are solid or not, but even if they're not solid I imagine you could still find a pretty hefty solid gold bangle for around $1000 or so.

Look here's one on etsy:

I think it's gorgeous!

That bracelet is hollow. It's only 12.6 grams. There is no way it's solid. That seller should be taken down for even implying it is. That's very light.

Well the reason she can say its solid is because there's no other material other than gold. You can't dip nothing in gold. It's hollow maybe, but most of the ones you find that are all gold will be hollow because gold has become so expensive.

When jewelry is referred to as solid gold they mean that there is no other base material. That its not gold-plated or gold filled. It doesn't have to be a solid non-hollow block to be considered "solid gold."
