i am a huge Hermes fan & collector and the clic clac comes only second to the collier de chien (CDC) as my top 2 favorite Hermes bracelets...

i have quite a few in PHW and GHW and i wear them often, usually stacked... i have had them for several years now, i even wear them to the beach and have swam in the ocean with them (but wash them immediately with salt off solution), and so far so good... just the usual scratches on the HW but the enamel is perfect.

i find them fun, incredibly easy to wear and hassle/fuss free... they are also classic and i think will stand the test of time.
(you can see multiple pics of my bracelet stacks on my IG - link in my siggy)

that being said, the price tag IS a lot, so you really have to LOVE it to spend that much money on something.

good luck with your decision!

Thank you for sharing your personal stories! Exactly what I was looking to read! :D
I love it because 1) you can stack it but that itself is quite a statement piece 2) as you mentioned its hassle/fuss free and I agree its classic and it will stand the test of time

But the price tag does seem slightly ridiculous but then I know some people will say that with T&CO's pieces as well.

Does anyone know what the original price of the Clic H bracelet was?

I'd never pay that much for anything gold plated, it simply won't last.

Would be such a waste if after a few years you have to throw it away due to the plating fading, chipping, etc. Plus you'd have to be a lot more careful with it than if it were solid gold.

Thats where I am too- the fact that its just gold plated and costs $610 (and plus tax its going to be closer to the $700 range)- that does seems slightly ridiculous.

Thanks for your input! :)

I had the same dilemma recently as I love the look of the Clic H bracelet and wanted to buy one to stack with my Love cuff. I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much in the end for something gold-plated and made with enamel, I would much rather buy a pretty gold bracelet from Tiffany's for the same price or a solid gold piece from an independent jeweller.

You mentioned the Tiffany DBTY bracelet as another option in an earlier post - it IS delicate but very versatile in that it looks lovely on its own or stacked with other delicate bracelets. It is also made from solid 18k gold with a tiny diamond, so much better value for money than the Hermes bangle - but of course the two looks are very different so it depends on what style you prefer.

I'm exactly at the point of- its only gold plated- is it truly worth $610 but with tax its going to be in the ball park of $670. hmmm I don't know :P

I have thought about T&CO's DBTY- but I've found them I kinda sorta want something with a bit more POW with the price range I'm looking for…
so I'm kinda in love with Elsa Peretti's Pearl by the Yard in gold- its $450

I've been told that pearls aren't really your "everyday" materials but its not your traditional pearl bracelet and when I think that this bracelet is pure gold and has pearls (they are cultured but still they're pearls). I know some people will say- Tiffany and pearls?! You can get something better for $450 but I dunno I'm really like this design. Any thoughts?

That is a very pretty bracelet! Definitely better value for money than the Hermes - although it feels strange to associate luxury goods with "value" :p it comes down to whether you feel your money would be better spent elsewhere.

Personally I would take solid gold over gold plating any day. With the Hermes bangle you are paying a huge amount for its name/design, whereas with Tiffany, while you're still paying for the name, you at least get solid gold out of it.

As long as you look after the pearls, I don't see why you can't wear the bracelet daily. It's not a full pearl bracelet either; I think the gold chain gives it much more versatility.

Whatever you decide to get, make sure it's something you'll be perfectly happy with. Good luck! :D

If you really love the bracelet, go for it. You might be able to find one on eBay (or another online resale shop) pre-owned too, if you're ok with that...just be sure to get it authenticated first. I personally would not pay a lot for a plated item regardless of brand; I would prefer to spend it on genuine gold that will withstand the test of time.

I really do want a pearl bracelet- but I've been told by most T&CO SA that pearls are not the best when it comes to everyday wear. There is one T&CO SA who told me that she lives in pearls so she doesn't follow that rule.

I don't plan on wearing a pearl bracelet EVERY SINGLE DAY of my life from when I purchase it till death- but its def something I don't want to just keep in my jewelry drawer and wear it only on special occasions.

Whats your input on pearls?

I think as Long as you're not banging it around and push the bracelet up when you're washing your hands you'll be fine. I think pearls are an every day necessity 😁

Oh I know that the current price is $610- I was just told that the price has gone up in the recent years so I was wondering if anyone knew how much it was when the bracelet first came out.

Only a couple hundred originally, don't torture yourself by finding out the original amount lol but you're paying the price increases and what not instead of the item. But that's what happens with luxury goods, I paid around 5k for my love bangle last year, it's over a 1000 more this year and ladies bought it for 2500

Isn't it?! I love the gold and the pearls together. I would love a DBTY from T&CO but it costs $650 for a gold bracelet with a single pearl. I'm liking the price point for the gold in the pearls by the yard.
I understand the whole "value" thing- if this was a bag or anything in leather- maybe even a tie- then I would be all over Hermes- but for something thats only been dipped in gold? hmmm I don't think its worth over $500.

Anyway thanks for your input! :D

summergal2121 The Tiffany BTY Pearl bracelet is gorgeous and I think this style would be a much better every day bracelet than a full string of pearls - which is what I envisioned earlier.

I picked up a necklace in that style in white gold and it has held up well and looks great casual or dressed up! :D

I looked it up on Ebay- I'm not completely comfortable in buying something thats pre-owned, but you have a point. I've seen it be about from the $200 price range to the $400 price range.

Also I agree $610 (including tax about $670) for a plated item sounds a bit overpriced.

Thanks for you input! :D

I'm not torturing over myself to find out the original amount- but I was curious, so thanks for letting me know. I was just curious to see how much Hermes first decided to sell it for- it is just gold plated- for it to be over $500 seems a bit slightly ehhhh

Oooh I would love to have a love bangle- thats a definite classic piece :)

Thanks for your input!

One could say anything from Hermes is overpriced. But in my opinion they are worth it! They are very well made, solid, elegant etc. I have two H bracelet, one with gold and one silver. They are so comfortable to wear and is pretty hardy. They look great on their own or stacked.

I would looking into buying from a reputable reseller if price is an issue. Be careful there are loads of fakes. Unfortunately the H sub-forum doesn't authenticate them any more. But you can look up in the H sub-forum for reputable resellers. Good luck!

At first I REALLY wanted a bracelet thats a full string of pearls- but…
1) thats something you can get from any jeweler, although I do understand that the quality of the pearls will differ with each jeweler-but if I'm buying something from T&CO I really want something thats unique to T&CO- I haven't really seen Tiffany's Pearl BTY bracelet anywhere else.

2) As I mentioned earlier I've been told that string of pearls isn't the best when it comes to everyday use and the goal is to add more (nice) jewelry to my wardrobe that I can wear not just on special occasions but everyday :)

Did you buy your bracelet at T&CO or was it a different jeweler?
