I just picked up the chypre and orans on my recent trip to Paris and as it’s a splurge for me since I go through shoes pretty quickly, does anyone put anything on the sole to protect them or lengthen their life of wear?

I am actually looking at men’s too as I find their colors more appealing! Thank you for the input. Would you say the men’s size chart is more accurate?
I actually got men’s orans too since I have wide feet and my SA in Paris recommended it! At first I was a little embarrassed to buy men’s shoes but they look practically the same! Although, it costs a tad more than women’s but it’s worth it for the wider comfort.

Hi! Anyone here used to buy men’s Chypre? I didn’t know they extended the sizes of women’s Chypre. I am a 42 men’s in Chypres would anyone here have the women’s size equivalent? In the website based on cm I should be 40.5 in women’s but I have my doubts.. Does anyone here have 42 men’s and women’s Chypre? TIA!

I’ve tried the mens on in my size - but I’ve found that while the women’s is pretty true to size for me, men’s is always bigger (i.e. a 42 in mens is a different size to a 42 in womens). So much so that I haven’t bought any mens Chypre even though they might be available. For me the difference is not just length, but also width. I find the design to be different on both- something about the H is a little more rounded on the womens Chypre than the mens.

I wear 41 in womens Chypre and I have one pair of Mens in the same size 41. There is a difference but mainly bigger in width not too much in length - and I have a narrow foot so the width makes it more noticeable. It doesn't make it unwearable - I barely notice a difference. With Chypre its safer to go bigger than smaller.

The design is different - slightly thicker H which makes it more masculine but hardly noticeable.

I got the White Chypre and the stitching under the Velcro strap rubbed my skin off. I bought some moleskin and placed it over the rough stitching of the shoe and they are perfect now! I have them in a 39. I also got the men’s Takara sandal in a 40 and it fits great! A little wider but not bad. I love them both and want more!
Thank you this is a great suggestion! I used some flat gel heel grips but the edges are not straight so I had to cut them to fit well over the rough stitching.

Suede Chypre sandals don’t have this problem but they don’t have the clean sporty look that calfskin Chypre have.

The ways of Hermes are very strange, I say this because for the last 2 years I never got any chypre from my home store because my SA said my feet are very small and they rarely get size 35 so my friend who lives in London managed to get me 2 online and I was perfectly satisfied. Today I just walked into the store and on the shoe display were chypre in Dore in size 35, I grabbed them and ran to the SA😂 I can’t believe I got chypre in the sought after dore…. Unbelievable!!
