Hello everyone
I need an advice!
One year ago I bought a Kelly 35 gris tourterelle in clemence leather, in really amazing condition (just some corner wear) and I paid 9500€ for it. I love it, but with a baby girl of 8 months I'm not using it as I thought, cause it's a but heavy and it's not very easy to open/close it. I contacted the shop I bought the Kelly from, and asked if they wanted to buy it back (but they offered just 6000€) or if I can change it with something else. They have a Birkin 30 Rouge vif in clemence leather ghw! The bag is really beautiful and it cost 10.500€. I have to see how much they can value my Kelly, then I'll decide. What do you think? Should I do the change? I hope I have to add just 2k, not more. If more I think I'll keep my Kelly. Thank you
Your baby is not going to be eight months old forever. If this is the bag you truly love and always wanted, keep it, and you will return to using it soon enough. Hermes bags are timeless, you have decades ahead of you enjoy it.

I love it yes, but still, everytime I wear it I think "is it too big?"... I feel strange with the size sometimes
I agree with you that the bag is too large to be practical. I think your idea of swapping it for a B30 is an excellent way to solve your problem. Unfortunately the current value of a K35 vs a B30 is going to be largely not in your favor but I’ve got my fingers crossed that the reseller will work out a deal for you.

Congrats on your baby  i would not keep a K35 even if you have to pay more than 2K extra for the right bag. * I’m basing this opinion, not only on what you wrote recently, but also on a prior statement that a K32 was your ideal size, but you found a deal on your 35. And also based on this statement:

Paying extra to buy exactly what you want is better than having a great deal but not using it. (I say this having sadly made exactly this mistake. . .more than once) I do think that if you are wheeling or carrying a baby, that even a 32 Kelly might also have been too cumbersome.

I would first really make sure that the B30 is the right size for you. I have B30s that I now find too big and too heavy for what I carry…

If I were in your place I might prefer a small bag that I could also use for going out and have a second dedicated (lighter, cheaper)
bag for kid stuff. This might mean another type of bag altogether while you wait for the perfect H bag, IDK. Good luck with your decision.

the nyc people would jump on and say “omg we were also told it’s 1qb per year”. I really really like my SA.

Based on this ^, I would stick to your local SA. Bc even if you wanted to move to NY, your US record would still show that you already received one QB and you would also have to rebuild a relationship from scratch. (I say this as someone who may also only have one QB from my home store this year too

Note: IMO only, it’s not simply a matter of spend. It’s how much limited stock an SA is approved to offer and how much more demand she has to deal with. While it’s true that an SA may be able to make a stronger argument for someone who vastly outspends others, Hermes is also trying to allocate bags to newcomers who have potential and to others who have not yet accepted any bags this year.

Fortunatly I have to pay 2k more! I was scared it'd be more! The Birkin is a 30 clemence in rouge vif! I like it soooo much! I'm waiting for more photos so I can take a final decision!

I think the B30 will be the perfect size for me! I have a lot of small bags, so the 30 would be the perfect middle size!

So disappointed! I’m going to be so close to one of the H motherships on Monday but I won’t be able to inside. I have a last minute overnight business trip to NYC, but I couldn’t make the flights work and have time for both the work meeting and a short shopping trip. All I really wanted to do was see the inside and stare longingly at the K42 display, if it’s even still there.

Not really an Hermes chat but does anyone know why some threads allow you to jump to new and some don’t. I know this is Whiny Wendy but it’s a pain to scroll all the way down to jump the most recent comment. What happened to the posts forward backward button at the top of threads. Can we bring that back?

Pretty sure it jumps to the first unread comment on the post (with some “no longer ago than” variable which I think is set to four weeks?). If you’ve already read them all, there wouldn’t be any “new” to jump to so the button goes away.

I don’t think so. For example I just went to the price thread. Pretty sure I’ve been on that thread multiple times this year and it still defaults to the first page with no option to jump to new.

Not sure if it’s my browser or the website.
