Add me to the list of people who deeply appreciate all of the experience and wisdom that you @QuelleFromage and other OGs are willing to share. I’ve learned so much, and still look forward to those posts. The repetition is sometimes tedious, and the attitudes are sometimes less tolerant than they should be, but then there are the volynka discussions, and the box leather deep dive, and the merits of of various under-the- radar bags, and pics of whatever @880 is wearing, that keep me tuned in. Many thanks to all.
We all LOVE to see what @880 is wearing and she is so generous to list all the details - @880 posts are so well thought out - impressive and delightful.
Enjoyed her jewelry journey, as well.
How cool is it that we can live vicariously and cheer our friends through luxury adventures - and learn so much

Apropos of nothing really, anyone else ever wonder why they bother trying to answer questions on this forum? I am feeling that "it's pointless" feeling and it's made me very sad today. Usually I am happy to have spent years with Hermès, to have gathered small smidgens of knowledge, and to try to answer PMs, etc., but lately.....I dunno.

Anyone else feel this way?
Noooo! After all these years, I still really enjoy the forum, there is always something new and interesting happening. Though I must admit to having placed strict limits to the amount of time spend on line - it’s more of a treat rather than a constant thing. So realistically I only have time to check certain forums and type of posts. The H forum is of course my favourite though occasionally I check Chanel (surpised no one started a thread for the V&A exhibition) and the wardrobe/general handbag forums. Not sure how ‘safe’ it is to post photos any more but I still share one or two… I adore your photos (your Kelly collections !!!!!) and your general comments too- as a recent example, I simply loved your imput on the Kelly flash saga.

I really enjoy the contributions of @880 , @QuelleFromage and many more. Their post are without judgement and mostly empowering. The love for the brand and not the “I need, I Want, I am entitled to posts” you see a lot. But still even with those post they’re always try to answer and share their experiences if they can.

So please keep your contributions coming. ❤️.

Thanks, all.

It's not so much people re-asking questions that were already answered, nor do I really expect tons of thanks (although it's nice when I lean in hard for someone). It's how mean some people are (not even just to me - to everyone), random post deletions for reasons I don't understand, and people getting mad because someone disagrees with statements of absolutes.

It's not a "community" anymore. I have over 100 people on "ignore" now, and it's only for two reasons: people who are almost invariably mean to other posters, and racism. I said something about this change of tone (the meanness, not the racism - that unfortunately will always come out on the Internet) in the OG forum and got a couple very "haughty" responses, including that certain folks are experts who must be respected, and that people who can't afford Hermès should just stay away from it. (?!).

I have also noticed that many of the OG H collectors are no longer participating here. The wonderful things people used to share - no longer. The reference guides are dated, scanty, and/or contain misinformation and the folks who were deep contributors are largely gone.

It's not that I expect thanks. I guess I expect a friendly, informational group that's excited about H? (I do see this in the scarfies btw.)

I guess I just don't see the point of sharing here anymore. End of my sob story :flowers:
I find all of your posts and comments always insightful. I have learned so much from posts (such as yours and other regulars (I don’t know how to multi comment if not I would tag all))and developed a love for the brand/goods. It is these insightful posts about a legendary brand that keeps someone like me coming back to this forum.

I used to love the paris threat- but some comments are best unread. In what I consider a short time on this forum (was a member back in 2005-2007? but not active and reopened a new account couple years back) I have read some nasty comments that turn me off from the forum-so far very few directed at me. . I try to be helpful without judgment-but as others have stated, if someone is asking for input and I respond to a query, my comment is not coming from judgment, just trying to respond best as I can. These are the times that make me disconnect from tPF and not comment at all.

Then there are the generous, insightful, experienced and kind forum collaborators, that make reading the comments pure joy. I have learned, I have laughed, I generously received valuable insight and recipes (holiday thread is a gem) and it’s these folks that make me stay and learn and enjoy the community.

Approaching the big 4-0, I find myself not being so engaged as much as I was with the luxury world. I have since moved to a mountain town to live in our summerhome fulltime and everyone here couldn't care less about high fashion and accessories. Everyone is in North Face, Patagonia or Arc'teryx. It is really refreshing!

I really do think it helps when the ones around are not into luxury.

I spent the last year buying whatever l fancied, in a ‘l see it, l want it, l buy it’ fashion, after a long period of restrain for most of my working life. Hermes bags and scarves, chanel jackets and skirts, vca earrings, etc. l think of it as a year of letting it out of the system. I think l’m done now. I just have to figure out a way to leave tPF, they are too good a group of enablers! I need to find my mountain town community
