I just want to suggest again, to everyone having a less-than-ideal experience at the forum right now, that you don't have to read everything in here, and you don't have to reply to anything, even if it's directly addressed to you.

Treat the forum like a buffet. You only pick what you like. And to what you don't like you don't really say, "damn, I really don't like that. I wish they didn't serve that here." You just don't put it on your plate and move on.

You also don't get to tell what everyone should pick because first of all, you don't own the buffet. Second of all, people use the buffet in different ways, in probably as many ways as there are people who use the buffet. Some of the items you dislike, people might really like. Let that be OK.

In Denmark we have a saying, "Du får ret, og jeg får fred." which means, "You're right, and I get peace." But in my head I translate it as, "You get to be right, and I get to have my peace." A lot of times, it's much better to have peace of mind than trying to prove you're right. Try it.

Lol I am someone who visualise what I read, think or hear and I instantly saw a long buffet table and saw all types of people. Some who stack their plates, some who look at the courses with disdain, some who just put everything on their plate and a long queue of people waiting fighting each other to get the last piece of cake. Thank you I had a great laugh this morning.

Dare I even say this out loud? It almost hurts to acknowledge this, and I told my SA a couple of seasons ago that I may be at purse peace. You know what happened, I was offered crazy grail bags including Diamond exotic Birkin, Himalayan and Faubourg. As a stay at home Mom, the above mentioned bags are just too schmancy for me, although I did accept a Tropical Faubourg and B25 Matte Black Croc Porosus. I have had a good run and now I want to dedicate my funds to international travel. At least for the next couple of years. Has anyone stepped away and then resumed on the same footing?

I have nothing to add other than I am drooling over those offers. I love how your SA said nope, and brought out the big guns  However as a fellow stay at home mom 100% get it. Curious to see what information others chime in with.

And ps I always laugh at myself when I’m wearing an exotic bag to pick my son up :lol: Life’s short, alligator bag today it is for the carpool line

fellow TPFers: What’s everyone reading right now - please, suggest some light reading, to give us all a break from online scrolling.

At the moment really enjoying ’the psychology of fashion’ by Carolyn Moir. (Anyone here read it - what did you think? )

Also looking for recommendation for any good exhibitions in Paris ( with or without my Hermes bag, probably with (LOL) I did try to open an alternative Paris thread, but my post was moved. I get it that it may become confusing @papertiger but it would be nice to have another thread where the Parisians can post their photos and share their wisdom.

Look here at post 4804 and a bit later in the thread
Emily St John Mandel is a fantastic writer, beautiful works, but no one would accuse it of being "light reading" LOL

Ditto on Emily St John Mandel. And the new Anne Patchett.

With respect to Paris exhibitions @ladysarah the Paul Smith Picasso exhibit was incredible. Even though I'd visited the Picasso museum before, his creative vision was refreshing.

Thinking of buying this Kelly 32. She's Rubis Swift with Rose Chevre Mysore Goatskin interior. Any experiences with these leathers, or insights before I take the plunge? Thanks!

Well, given that this is the Éclat/So Flash Kelly, I believe this is Tadelakt, not Swift, and the interior/contrast detailing is not Rose Shocking, it is Rose Tyrien. (The exterior is Rubis.)
The listing is not showing you much of the contrast details, but you can see them in the So Flash threads (I will try to find and link). There will be a contrast underside to the handle and sangles.
There are also some great threads here on Tadelakt. I owned a version of this same bag, in Fauve Tadelakt with Rubis. Just for me personally I find Tadelakt a bit delicate - along the lines of Box. YMMV.
I am a huge fan of this particular limited edition line. HTH!

Thank you. That's incredibly helpful!

P.S. What makes it an Éclat/So Flash Kelly? Is it the two tone nature? Thanks
It was a limited edition released 2010-2011, with the "flash" of color giving it the name (Éclat in French, So Flash in English). Here you go:

A 28 version of the bag you are considering: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/my-new-so-kelly-flash.640881/

I feel like there are more threads but search isn't turning them up.

ETA: Here's another article with pics: https://thefashionforeword.wordpress.com/2011/06/10/a-kelly-so-flash-mob/

I have been looking for the Etoupe/Bleu Azteque version of this line for years  The Tadelakt bags are great color combos but I have enough delicate bags - it rains a lot in my city ;)

To the theme of H chat, reading that 2010 So Flash thread I linked above made me very, very sad. There's no snark or meanness in that thread. No criticism. No gatekeeping. No censorship. No "how did you get this bag and can you PM me your SA's phone number". Just a bunch of bag lovers being very happy for someone's acquisition, and very complimentary on the beauty of the bag.
I didn't have a single H bag back then, but the forum must have been so pleasant!

OK enough tPF, back to work for me! Happy Monday!

Thanks to your help I placed the order  Very excited! She'll be my 2nd Kelly. Couldn't resist that incredible color combo & price. It'll be especially wonderful in sunny San Diego year round. Thank you!

Yay! I have to admit I was tempted myself! But in sunny Cali this will be a perfect bag. (I hate to add this BUT IF there are any issues - and with TRR there can be issues - the fact that they got leather and color wrong would allow you to return it. But we all hope you won't want to!)
You also have access to a great artisan in Beverly Hills if you ever need a refresh or repair <3
