BBL, thank goodness DS made it to VT safely! Sounds like a crummy place to get a flat, but really, is there any good place to get a flat tire? I never learned how to change a flat, although after three flat tires in the span of 4 days back when I was pregnant, I ought to know how just from watching the roadside assistance guy do it!

Purse, that's what I'm always scared of, not being able to budge the lugnuts. In theory I know how to change a tire, but in reality, it's so much easier to call the (free) roadside assistance guy!

ATG, ooh, a crocheted Kelly or Birkin! I bet you can figure it out; heck, you figured out an Abrams tank! DH flew F-16s when he was in the Air Force, and early on in our dating, he explained in excruciating detail the differences and superiority of the F-16 over the F-"lower numbers"; not that I can remember anymore which model has the two tail fins and which has just one (shh, don't tell him I forgot something so vitally important!).

Cakey, how are the horse shows going? What types of shows are these?

Ck, congratulations on the new H bag!!! How are you and Collin feeling?

Nurse, fantastic new boots!! And did you say you got a huge discount on them? Even better!!

Restricter, I think LilOB has spring fever too, what with the warm and muggy weather that we've had this week...she insisted on the sunnies and the butterfly shoes today. But just in case a cold front came whipping through at the drop of a hat, she also insisted on the Old Navy pom pom hat :D

I missed catching a picture of her yesterday when she wore her pom pom hat AND the matching too-big mittens in 75 degree weather to walk the dog! And she insisted on carrying two toys with her, which proved to be a hilarious sight with those huge mittens :D

Now isn't that just the best little ray of sunshine!! I want one, NOW!

BBL, Glad that you've got through that awful day; now lots of vibes for MrBBL's surgery next week~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Definitely agree with run-flats; have had a couple of incidents with our X5 and really don't think I could lift one of the tyres on those! Had a pretty steep learning curve re changing tyres with the crappy little car I had in my teens; one time had to change a tyre on a high-rise part of the I-10 heading into New Orleans during rush-hour. I got lots of beeps (I was considerably cuter at 17!) but not one ba**ard was kind enough to get out and help!! This was one of several tyre changes until we found out that the struts were bent and that was why the tyres kept blowing!

CK, Love the sound of your new bag! Gorgy!

Lala, hope your little one is feeling a bit better now? My brain used to turn to mush any time I had to sit and watch the Teletubbies when mine were little!

OB, You have no idea how excited I was when you said your DH used to fly F-16's!! I would LOVE to go in one of those! And yes I do know that most people vomit when they first go in them!! Our other house is quite close to several Air Force bases and they often fly over head when training, usually in formation. Rather noisy, but incredibly thrilling! Not too sure what that says about me! Definitely a bit of a speed freak!

CMB, Glad to see you're still alive!! Couldn't you request a special paint colour on that ATV - H orange?! Paint the logo on there too; perhaps you could get H to sponsor it?!!!

A big fat TGIF to everyone else out there that I've missed!

Good morning, my lovelies.
It is Meals on Wheels and the emergency Pre-Op with Dr. Fred. I hope he can squeeze in my Vitamin D shot while we are there.
Yes, thank you all again for the prayers and vibes for DS. I'm not going to bother him. I'm sure this 8-day program is intensive. After his dad's surgery, I'll let him know that all is okay. I'm not going to worry him first.
So it's Friday morning and muggy and warm?? Where is everybody?
I hope you all have a lovely day.

BBL - sending you good thoughts for pre-op today, MoW and anything else going on. Please do remember to take care of yourself too! Keep us posted!

OB - the pic of LilOB made my day. Between her sunny smile and fantastic outfit, it's obvious that spring has sprung, regardless of the temperatures! She needs her own fashion blog.

CK - hooray on the orange Massai!!!

BBL, wishing you a smooth and uneventful day, no surprises on pre-op bloodwork. It's muggy here, too. I can't believe I have my AC on in Feb.

Jules, you need a lil girl! They're so fun to buy clothes for, and are a handy excuse for buying jewelry and purses ("but honey, I'm not buying this necklace/Kelly/etc for me, it's for DD when she grows up! I'm just taking care of it for the next two decades :graucho:). Isn't it cool when the jets fly by in formation? We get that occasionally when they do training flights. DH wishes he could fly again, but only if he could fly jets again. Unfortunately, since you can't just run out and rent an F-16, he's seriously considering learning to fly helicopters  Now, that scares the cr@p out of me; to me, they're like death traps! I'm like, give me a few days, I'll find you an F-16 to play around with, just no helicopters!

Lala, whew! Five days of being hhomebound, and my brain would be mush, too! And my waistline, given my tendency to bake floury goods these days. Is he feeling better today?

Nurse, I know you posted this awhile ago, but I saw your action pic with your new Pegasus scarf...gorgeous!!!!! It's convinced me to get Pegasus in purple; I was dithering between the purple and black, but not anymore! I'm so glad you love your internship! Surgery is my favorite, too. Again, major congrats on the job offer, you deserve it!!!!

She does need her own blog! But then people would see all the fashion don'ts that she ends up wearing thanks to me :D
