Happy New Year everyone.

I just went through the Froggy thread, all 400+ pages. Gorgoeous, gorgeous, gorgeous bags, clothes and scarves.

ATG, Feel better sweetie.

Hiya Purse!!!

Cleaning vibes Mindi. I like the idea of treats after clean up. Are you a peanut butter cup, snickers or almond joy person???

Cakey, Nice dream. I hope it comes true.

restricter, the girls send Jinjy and Winky and Smuffy big New Years hugs and kisses.

CK, Give Collin a hug for me.

BTW, has anyone heard from Cinderlala, Laney2 or Miss Margaux? They have not posted in a while and I was wondering, if not a little worried.

I was wondering about them myself. Then I heard from Laney on facebook and crossed her off my list, but no sign of lala or MM.

Also, Henry keeps getting bigger. He's almost 12 pounds now. I swear he grows overnight. Olive the Chunky Chi looks positively diminutive by comparison. Whatever Henry is, it ain't no Chihuahua. Actually, he looks a lot like a Basenji. Except he does bark, which Basenjis don't. Perhaps he's a Chisenji.

Henry looks like he has some Ibizan hound in him, Mindi.

I'm up for another WOW type event, though it would have to be summer or fall for me. I'm going to try to nurse Collin to 6 months of age (March), which makes travel difficult....

Okay, I can't keep up with you shopping goddesses, but I'm fairly certain I can eat my way across Manhattan and parts of New Jersey without breaking a sweat (my jeans, a while other story :D).

I think the shopping marathon sounds like the best idea for Mindi :D

ck - can't wait to see new Collin pics! So you've done a few marathons? Wow, I admire you so much! If I can even finish 5k I'd be delighted, nevermind 13.1 miles. I dunno how I'll go from not running to being able to do a half marathon but I'll try anyway. My aunt n uncle are runners and are doing it so my brother, SO and I said we'd do it too. My bro doesn't run, neither do I but SO does. My uncle said he'd have a competition between the three of us and he'd give a prize for whoever of us came in first (me, SO and bro). Game on!

I got my running shoes just before christmas. Had to order them in. I was shocked I was able to get ladies runners in a size 43, of course they took nearly 5-6 weeks to get in but still! I did that analysis thing that they do on your feet in sports shops to see what running shoes you need. So I'm all sorted on that front anyway.

Not much else happening here right now, tiz pretty quiet! Hugs to you all! :hugs:

I am in awe of anyone who trains for, runs, runs part of, or thinks about running a marathon. I think it would empower me right into an early grave. New task for Chat Peeps: Think of a 2011 life experience for Mindi that doesn't involve running. It can, but need not, involve: drinking, shopping, complaining, television viewing, dining out, dining in on something I didn't cook, and, um, cleaning. Ready, steady, GO!

Dear Mindi,
Since we are of a like mind regarding running, perhaps you can embark on a voyage of reading a zillion books on an e-reader, like a nook. It requires little exercise. Just a credit card and a buy-it-now (confirm) paw. It is very nice and it does it all. Magazines, books, photos, mp3, internet.
Just a thought. I love mine and DH is slowly in the process of conversion from his Kindle DX to my old nook.

Running a marathon, or even a half, is more psychological than physical. Take your time, and know that you only have to worry about taking the next step. I really enjoyed the Jeff Galloway (or is it Gallway?) training method. He believes in 1 minute walk breaks to reduce the strain on the body. I ran 7 minutes and walked 1 for the entire race. You can lengthen or shorten the running intervals to suit your needs.

Good luck! Keep us updated in your training!
