Jules, I would give anything to have a WOW meetup in the UK! But as it is, I'm having a hard time getting halfway across the country much less across the Atlantic :D

Eta: WOW is what we called the last chat meetup, but for the life of me, I can't remember where it came from and what it stands for :D But the last meetup was a WOW fun experience!

If you're getting on a plane anyway, just tell the pilot to keep going past New England & then hang a right at Newfoundland; if you could pick up Avril on the way too, that would be great!

I always thought the wow was short for pow-wow as in a meeting, or is it just what you all say to each other when you see everyone's H stuff, lol?! :p

Would love to go, but alas we're going to Prague that weekend (already miffed cos it turns out Duran Duran are playing the O2 that weekend-boohoo!). However, have been consoling myself with planning the route from the Four Seasons to H!!:graucho:

Hey, Jules! There's an H in Prague? DH has always wanted to visit Prague and the surrounding area, but he's only willing to take time off from work in the dead of winter when it's freezing in Europe. Hes also a huge fan of Duran Duran :p

Okay, my beautiful chat peeps. Good news, bad news. Bad news. DH has a detached retina. Good news, surgery did not have to be done tonight. Poor DH I couldn't hold his hand when the Dr was messing with his eyes. I know it hurt him. I just cried in support for him. It hurt me as much as him. The surgery is scheduled for 7:30 am Tuesday. I texted Dr. Fred from the surgeon's office and by the time I got home, he got us squeezed in for Friday for the pre-op. Labs tomorrow. My problem is how to get him how to get him to the hospital. I don't think my DF is going to be willing to drive us to the hospital at 5:30 am Tuesday morning. Dr. F told me under no terms am I to drive. I'll promise DF a fabulous tajine dinner if he will help me out. Or there must be some thing I can bribe him with. As it is, I have to cancel Meals on Wheels on Friday. He'll be loving me for that.
I shopped for DS at Trader Joe and Office Depot. He has a giant "Little Switzerland" tote bag filled with chocolate-less trail mix packages. Why did he need chocolate-less? So, why no chocolate? So he could devour our Godiva Valentine chocolates. Gotta love the irony there.
So, thank you for your vibes, your hand-holding, your good wishes and your very presence in my life.

BBL, hugs to you and DH. Is there a car service in your area that could take you/pick you up from the surgery? A nice Town Car and driver would go along way in one less thing to worry about...

Argh, BBL--but I understand that this IS correctable, so vibes that the surgery goes smoothly and his vision is fully restored. So sorry he--and you--are going through this. Hugs to you both.

Oh gosh, BBL, that sounds horrible. I'm glad that the surgery is booked for so soon. Have they said what the likely outcome will be?
Would it be possible to book a taxi or some other car service to take you to the hospital? Best wishes to you and MrBBL. :flowers::hugs:
