BBL, as long as your pearls are worn and get exposure to moisture in the air. The worst thing for them is to keep them in an airtight vault or safe. Pearls really thrive being worn! The oil from your skin helps keep the lustre nice. (Just don't spray perfume or hairspray near them.)

Thanks! I do know that. My mother used to joke that people paid poor girls to wear their pearls to get them "just right." "Their" not meaning my mother, of course. I have them safe and sound and they are fine. I should wear them. I took an opera length double strand of pearls that were my grandmother's (with a hideous 1960's opal clasp -- I mean really not pretty) and had them restrung onto a single endless strand. This is one of the smartest makeovers I have done. I have made over many pieces over the years.
One of my favorite pieces is a choker with a dainty three flower clasp, each flower has a single stone, emerald, ruby and sapphire. My grandfather, my partner in crime, who taught me about fine things, jewelry, cars, gadgets, etc., passed away in February when I was 20. On my birthday in April, the receptionist at the desk of their apartment got a package and it turned out to be this strand of pearls. Nobody knew a thing about it. He had gone to the jewelers and picked out the pearls and the clasp and asked for it to be sent on my birthday. It was one teary 21st birthday. This is my most special gift from him. He never drove himself anywhere. Ever. This was a very big deal. Never a day goes by that I don't miss him. He was a character and I was the only granddaughter he ever knew.

Oh, the tool box? Doesn't really go with our decor!! But it is a brilliant idea, indeed!

CG -- how sad about your loss. Hugs to DH too.

B'mom -- sorry to hear PB is flagging. This bug seems to be holding on.

Lala -- nice to see you again!

I just got home from work and need to relax enough to go to bed soon -- good times.

CG - I'm so sorry about Lizzy! I can't imagine how hard it is to lose two such beloved furry friends in such a short span. My prayers are with you and your family.

B'mom - vibes to poor PB! Hope she's feeling better soon!

OB! You've been on my mind all day. I can't thank you enough for all the advice and information during these past five awful weeks.

Lulilu - I have it on good authority that the temperatures will be in the 40s next week. We made it!

Hope all of you are well! Love and spitty cat kisses!

Restricter, anytime :hugs: I think Winky was trying to tell us all along that there was absolutely nothing wrong with him! **helloooo, how much more Fancy Feast do I have to eat before you all realize I'm fine??** If only I were more fluent in felinese...all I know are cuss words :D

Hi guys! PB is home (thanks for the good wishes!) and she and DH are cuddled on the couch watching all the Super Bowl commercials back to back...which is good because he's in the dog house at the moment. Somehow PB's fever was my fault because I didn;t dose her when we left the house this morning. Forget that she did this waaay after the morning dose wore off, and trying to dose either of them unless they are catatonic or close to death is impossible.

So, whatever, at least my Chard loves me:p

Ugh! How can anyone ever think that a kid's fever is someone else's fault?!? Good thing you have your Chard! ;) (We love you, too!)
