A fly-by shout-out to da PEEPS! Wackadoo day here, but all is basically well. Having dinner in the big city tomorrow with DH as an early V-day celebration (since on actual V-day all the restaurants put in extra tables and "special" menus that mean you are eating in other diners' laps and enjoying entrees that were prepared the previous day. . . ).

BBL, I know you were talking about collecting nautically themed scarves & wondered if you had spotted this one, if you don't already have it?

OMG, thank you so much Jules. This is one overpriced collectible scarf. For us, we already have two, not in such great condition. This ship, the France, became the Norway just in time for DH and I to sail on for our honeymoon 30 years ago shortly after she was sold. This particular scarf was (I'm fairly sure) was sold on the France, making it all the more rare because it (again, probably) wasn't available to the general public. We have a blue and a dark red one. They are the worse for wear, but treasures of Mr. BBL. The green is a surprising colorway for the subject matter. Also very important to us is the original "Evant en Toute!" in its original release. This scarf was designed in honor of the maiden sailing of the beautiful Queen Mary 2. We were not able to get it on the ship, but paid a similar price for it from someone in France several years ago. It was much more beautiful and vivid than the reissue that followed. Interestingly, there are components on that scarf that are borrowed from one of Cunard's original QM posters, of which we have a print.
Unfortunately, the fate of the France/Norway is sad. It was scrapped in India recently and is no more. Such a beautiful 60's era ship deserved better.
Again, thanks for finding that beauty for us. And, listening to some nautical trivia.

Nurse, super news on your interviews! I am really proud of you, as if you were my daughter. I know how hard you work. And, you would still be doing your surgical internship -- and -- working on your thesis. Wow, what work.
We don't really do Valentine's Day anymore. I'm allergic to flowers and I shouldn't eat chocolate, but I do have a coupon for Godiva, so I guess, we could go get some. we are such an old married couple now, it's the little things that matter any more.

Lala --
I am so happy you are back, really I am. It's good to see you here. I am waiting for my SA to bring in the rest of my scarves so I can go through them.

Mindi -- any news from DHs tests yet?

Restricter -- I hope everybody at home has relaxed and life becomes a bit more normal.

Avril -- DH loves nautical anything. And, he loves to have Hermes scarves. How sweet of him.

B'Mom, I hope you are okay after the pancaking. My place gives Hershey's kisses. I go Friday.

ATG, I hope you are on the mend.

BBL, I'm so glad the scarf is of interest to you! And I love that En Avant Toute; the colour is fabulous!

B'mom, hope you're not feeling too squished!

Lala, Hope your Indy situation gets resolved! Is it the Lego game? I'll have to put my DS's on chat to give some advice!!!

Avril, hope the exam went well? Time to reward yourself?!:graucho:

Nurse, Fantastic news on the job interview; well done!!

hi Restricter! Good hearing about Winky. I hope you feel better -- I have something like you do that I swear I picked up in Penn Station last week. It's really knocking me out.

Nurse -- yay re the job progress!

Jules -- love the cartoon! It's so funny that we are all going around the same time for our apptments. I go in a couple of weeks with my daughter (it will be her first and I had to take the initiative an make the apptment). I told her our apptments will forever be due around the same time and I will keep her to it.

We are starting to see some grass here too! The mountains of snow are slowly receding too, so there is some hope, no?

Joining in the chant for Springspringspringspring!
Thank you for remembering and asking, BBL: DH does NOT have celiac, just a generalized gastritis, probably due to stress. We are glad! I'm hoping that this mild health scare will help to put DH on a better trajectory regarding diet and exercise.
nurse, well done on the job interview! All your Chat Peeps know that you will be in GREAT demand. . . you are AWESOME!

OMG, listen to this: My Valentine's Present to Y'all:

Hot Chocolate French Toast. It’s made with rich chocolate bread. Overstuffed with melted, gooey chocolate chips. Topped with whipped cream and a pile of marshmallows that were lovingly set on fire in the kitchen.

Mindi, stress does a real job on our health. My doctor was talking about it to me today. It's so hard to find ways to reduce your stress if you are a type A personality and have a stressful job, family issues, etc. I know I should reduce stress, but can't figure out how. I do think spring will help, as walks outside are a help.

Afternoon everyone!

BBL, you'll have to be BBBL (Busy BBL) at this rate! Good luck with the breast-mangling appointment. In the examination rooms at Guys Hospital here in London they have this cartoon on the wall, which some killjoy insists they keep taking down as it's too un-pc! Fortunately, they have more than one copy!

Jules, Thanks for giving me a laugh!!! I've seen this before, but it always brings a wry smile to my face.

Hi everyone, I hope all is well.

It's snowy and cold here. I want spring too....

Well, it's not snowy here, but it is friggin' cold and windy! Hey, at least I'm getting lots of wear out of my GMs!

Lala, I hope you are able to recover the Capn's progress! I can only imagine how disappointing it is to get through all the levels of a video game, only to have to start from scratch! The Ex Libris Dip Dye GM is the one that has a lighter blue background with dark blue border. I think it'll be a nice alternative to the cashmere GMs on the in between days where cashmere is too warm.

Restricter, love your TSC sample sale haul  Winky must be over the moon with his new bling!
