I rarely shop in other H stores as this home store has been awesome to me. I put in another SO (my third since 2010) - Kelly 25 in April; and just last week was offered and accepted a B25 Gold with GHW.
I don't know and have not tried to understand the H game/pre-spend but I have been a customer since the year they first opened. All of my 19 H bags, except one (a mini Evelyne in cyclamen) are from there. It does not feel like a game anymore, but rather a real relationship.

Thanks for sharing and congrats on your wonderful offers! I’ve been shopping for 5 years now and it’s not super long, but at the same time although I feel I have the relationship built, but at the end of the day it’s still about the prespend - and my SA was frank with me since it’s not solely her decision although she can advocate but it’s SM decision. I’m also running out of things to buy at this point (one can only have so many scarves and shoes lol) and every time I ask for something it’s often not available, so it’s exhausting sometimes. Your story put a smile on my face though on how it’s not always about the spend (but to me it still is lol)
Yes, I can totally see both sides Litostar. I am sure I will not get offers if I had not been shopping as much as I have. I guess what I meant was I do not see the 1:1 or 2:1 spend because I generally just buy when there is something I like. My SA is aware of what I want for bags and she lets me know when they are available. I just don't keep track of "presepend" or when the "prespend resets". I want to avoid the anxiety of "I have not bought enough" or "I have bought X amount and I still don't have a bag".
I also am realistic and do not have the budget for more than 2-3 bags a year anyway. In fact, there have been years (2019 and 2020) when I did not ask for any bag (no budget and none in my wish list) and continued to get small things from the store for our vacation property (Avalon blanket/pillows and the mosaic cup set). Those were surprisingly difficult to get too (waited 9 months). So it's not always the bags for me.

I must say I’m glad once in a while this thread gets a little love. The Calgary store is a little treasure and I’m totally loyal to it, as my home store (although I love looking at the architecture and items in person in other parts of the world). The Toronto and Vancouver forum have a lot of activity which I enjoy because of Canadian perspective, but because they are larger stores and a little different culturally and economically from us westerners, I do love hearing from others on the “prairie”.

Does anyone know how often bag shipments come in? Does the store have a general sense of what’s coming beforehand? I remember when I was offered my bag, I was offered it in March and it didn’t arrive until August - which makes me think they must know what stock is coming in advance. TIA!

All bags (and all items for that matter) are ordered at podium. From that point forward, the SM will know what they ordered, and thus what is assumed to eventually come, but will have no idea when it will actually arrive. (And of course some things never end up going into production or H corporate arbitrarily reduces the quantities after then fact etc)
I was able to score a Blue box bag, that is Bolide skate 31 in Black on last Saturday.
Sounds amazing. I had to look it up, so a pic would be wonderful. It’s so nice to see unique items coming to Canada. Was this a surprise, something you asked for, or an item your SA thought of you for?
