I've heard that it's possible for Hermes to restore most Epsom leather scratches, so one day you can spa with H and hopefully it will come back scratch free. And yes, it's always that first mark that's the worst. Over time you begin to love the slight imperfections as part of a bags journey.

Thanks Now that I am over my first scratch, I am following my SA's advice to "just wear it" lol

Merry Christmas! I love it - the H travel capsule! Mine always includes some variation of these:

For day - something secure and a bit under the radar like K Flat in Rose Dragée, or Lindy 30 in Gold
Evening - K Cut in Noir or K Elan in Vert Peppermint
To corral small essentials in a beach tote - blue Néobain pouch (small)
To hold scarves etc - silk Petit H pouches
For warmth on flights - CSGM
That One Dress that works for almost every occasion (even as a lightweight trench coat) - my new black shirt dress
Beach coverup - light cotton kaftan

Mistakes have been made on our current holiday trip. I did not H enough. I was trying to low key H it, and I over did it. For safety reasons I did not travel with any H bags (or Chanel for that matter) and I feel underdressed.
I brought an H cashmere coat, scarf 90, also H cashmere scarf I purchased during travels, several H shirts and two H winter boots (snow boots etc). I did bring H rose gold bracelets, one ring, and several rose gold/leather bracelets for accents. I realize for me, outfit is not complete without a proper bag.

I hear you, depending on the destination sometimes choose not to travel with expensive bags and then regret it as my outfit is not complete and I can't take a nice picture lol (not a blogger, just love nice pictures). Funny enough, when I do take H bags on trips I sometimes feel overdressed: I am very skeptical when it comes to keeping an H bag at a hotel so I would end up carrying my Kelly all day long making it perfect for the "Hermes wildlife sightings" thread

I am the same, I simply enjoy wearing my H items. Photos largely remind me of the outfits I was able to assemble.

what is your core Christmas or travelling collection

A feutre TPM Evelyn. The felt is super sturdy and goes through rain or snow and looks great in warm weather *

A H black short sleeved knit sweater of some kind (usually my synthetic perforated BdG top). This can go under a cardigan or over a silk shirt. And it has a matching skirt.

A silk set (top and skirt or pants). These roll into a packing cube; can be combined into different outfits; and can be layered with stockings or socks underneath for warmth. My short sleeved top can also be worn like a vest over the shirt.

This season my alpaca hoodie has been perfect for travel; transitional weather; and the plane.

* ETA: a runner up bag would be my so Kelly elan, etoupe Epsom, ghw. It survived torrential rain in Paris last October.
But, I don’t stuff it as much as I do the feutre bag.

DH actually does the H capsule travel collection better than I do: his includes a sac a depeches 21; a titanium H08 watch; h pull overs, hoodies; turtlenecks, and/or cardigans; and one or two pairs of H cargo pants.

Agree with @coffee2go. I haven’t r finished reading it but so far, it’s well written and I think in captures the whimsical spirit of H.

Thank you! I just got it too and looking forward to some down time reading it. I will report back. One of the things I love about visiting Paris is all the great bookshops. Even Hermès has an in- house bookstore!
