have been shopping in Brisbane for the past year and just started to enquire about a K but always told the waiting list has been closed...does anyone have an alternate experience?

They have great items. Im not sure about a waitlist, however, the SM and all the SAs I have interacted with have been great there. A large portion of my HAC, B and K have come from the Brisbane. In fact, I just put an SO (special order) with them. Probably one of the best stores for customer service and professionalism, I have ever come across (including ones from USA, UK, Singapore)

It is hard for me to agree with that. Purely because, I have never bought anything else from them besides B and K. My brother and I simply asked and they said yes. We purchased two. That has also been the case for us in most of the H stores we have been to (USA, UK, Singapore, Japan).

The SMs have told me that it is not their policy to have minimum spend before offering the customer one of their "special" bags. In fact, it is frowned upon.

I would hope an iconic fashion house like Hermes would not have that sort of practice.

I think it sounds like you've been very lucky in all of your experiences around the world. My experience as well has shown me being offered special items isn't linked to how much you spend but rather the relationship you have with the store. However there is no denying that if you spend a lot of money in any H store you will probably have a higher chance of being offered a sought after bag. Do I think that's necessarily fair? No. But I guess the stores have to find ways of rewarding customers who do choose to spend a lot on other items too.

While I haven't experienced it myself, reading the stories here on tpf, many people are encouraged to buy other items before the bag they are wanting will become available. It seems to happen in the Sydney store quite often. I will only ever buy items I love but unfortunately it does not seem other people have had the same experience.

Definitely be counting my experiences as blessings!

Seems kinda disappointing tho re: other peoples experiences of being encouraged to spend in that manner.

The Sydney store is fantastic! Christopher is really great and they have new associate, Michael, who is really awesome.

It sounds like you have great relationships with a number of stores, which makes you very lucky indeed :) I don't have any experience with the Sydney store, but it seems to be very hit and miss regarding service. It is very sad hearing about some people's experiences. If I was ever forced to spend money so blatantly that would probably completely turn me off the store and most likely the brand too!!

Yes I agree. I would not be returning to any store or brand if I had those experiences.

Once again, definitely blessed.
I will always remember my first experience in an Australian Hermes (Melbourne). This was quite a few years ago, I was a student. Qantas lost my luggage. I went to the first store next to my hotel, which happened to my Hermes (before they moved to their current location). I asked them for any big bags I could for travel as my luggage has been lost. The staff (im sure feeling really sorry for me), offered my a HAC 50 and a Polochon voyage. I took both. Thank goodness for the Bank of Ma and Pa! lol.

I was just offered and purchased a Kelly 40 (i am a dude and i use it for work and travel) . The Hermes Brisbane store has always been fantastic...and I am in Perth!!
Hello, i am in Perth as well. Could you advise your sa from Brisbane store? I am currently contacting one from Brisbane store but she's been persuading me to buy proclaim blanket...:(
