If they have taken your name on the waiting list, I'm sure they have every intention of offering you a bag if one becomes available. It could be that you get your bag sooner if it is turned down by another client or you may get one later. In the end there is no harm being on the waiting list and perhaps popping into your local boutique in the meantime for other H purchases will help build your client credibility.

My wife was on the wait list for 18 months. Black evergrain with PH. The SA told us that it would be 6 mos for togo, 18-24 mos for evergrain.
This is a very sad thread for me, and you can see why:
1. do not own a birkin yet, but waited for more than a year. I am pretty much open to anything except for brown and orange color.
2. try to purchase one locally and develop a relationship with the SA, still waiting...

3. about 1000 over retail but no tax and totally worth it since red is hard to get
Second birkin BDP swift 35
1. no wait
2. walked into FSH, made friends and offered birkin first day (went late september) Lots of other ppl were offered as well
3. retail with vat back

Also when the recession began a couple of years ago there was much more inventory. Now as people begin to spend more, a lot less inventory. I have been waiting close to a year now for a 35 black togo kelly retourne. SA says he has not seen one in awhile...
