Thankyou all for responding! it's really interesting to note at least with all the posts that many of you actually got the bag from the stores. After reading horror stories about the wait time etc. it's clearly working for most of y'all. :happydance

For me, I was less patient-

1.I did 3 months of serious investigation
2.bought it from Createur's De Luxe on ebay
3. paid more than retail.

1. day one, bought a belt and randomly ask for black birkin 30, happened to have one on hold and not available however they called me back an hour later and the bag was available after they confirmed the bag was being cancelled by the original wait lister.

*This is regarding my first B--I wanted a Black 40cm with PHW and went on eBay one day and there it was....it was also around the first time I had learned about and interacted on this forum.....the guy who sold it to me had purchased it for his wife while on holiday in Hawaii....it was on the shelf in the boutique, so they bought it....but the wife is petite and so never used it because it was too big for her....so imagine--I got a brand new authentic H bag for a cheap price (talk about lucky on the first go-round....esp. with a first time/only time Birkin seller). I will probably never be as lucky or fortunate like this again....

I think it kind of depends on where you live and demand for Birkins in your store.

I was told the wait was 6 months to 2 years, and obviously depended on what I wanted and what they got in. I was allowed to give my three top choices. I guess I am wondering if it will end up coming through with a bag or if they just take the names for the waitlist to pacify the customers but know they won't be able to fulfil the requests?
