Not true. Every staff member from PR companies, even tech people 'on the floor' sign confidentiality clauses. Press days are = Press Days so it's officially sanctioned. H staff have been severely reprimanded for discussing, I always have to show Head of Scarves insta PD shots to make head of scarves believe it's actually public domain info. No idea about Sydney, who knows, could be SM's last month could be strategy but H will need control over all info.

These were also my thoughts until I realised how much of these press days shoots one could find online. I seem to remember that some of the UK ones came from someone claiming to do H’s PR in that country. Michael Costes (head of PR at FSH I think) even “likes” a lot of these “leaked” pictures. As you wrote, I would have thought that all these local companies would be bound to the strictest confidentiality. I just wonder why H head office is not taking action to prevent this from happening season after season if it does really matter that much to them?

Well, I just don't understand why H hasn't realized how much good publicity WE can provide here, with our enthusiasm, skills, sleuthing, networking, and buying power, LOLOL. And they could reward/entice each of us with a free scarf, right? :amuse:

ITA.

Actually, through the years we have been the chief influencers for all things H. Waaaaay beyond any other source for scarves.

They are, they do. If MC likes your post then it's been officially sanctioned, if not before then in afterglow. Certainly companies are balancing being part of new media with the problems of releasing info too early

Let's get back to AW18 scarves

The Baobab Cat scarf looks very small compared to the one in the upper left. Are we sure it’s a 90?

If the one in the upper left is a 140, it seems more likely the Baobab Cat is a 70 because it looks about half the width of the 140. But as far as I know, Hermes has discontinued the 70cm. I’m just wondering - and getting impatient waiting for it. :P

I'm thinking the game board one is a 90 and the Baobab Cat is a 45?

Baobob is coming in both a 90 and 45

Sorry to bring a bit of a downer into proceedings - I'm as desperate for solid information as everyone else here - but after a glimmer of hope with Last Night I find I'm just not in tune with the aesthetic of the silk collection. For me the baobab flower would have been enough - what dangerous drug were they on to stick a cat's face in the middle of it? To me it just looks ridiculous. Over the last few seasons there have been a number of quite simple-looking avant-guard designs which if you don't care about the vagaries of modern art are easy to ignore ( Natalie Pasquier previously, Charpentier this season ) or the other string of designs are so busy they just give me a headache looking at them (both the Goose Game and anything by Pierre Marie). To add insult to injury Hermes persist in taking perfectly good designs like Della Cavalleria mash them up with lines and hatching or add four different but equally discordant borders. I just find that a lot of the silk collection is irritating rather than intriguing - I know this says a lot about me and my outlook on art and high end fashion and I was keeping quiet about it but I found I was not alone and my local boutique's buyer despaired of this forthcoming A/W season and found it very difficult to select enough stock for the period up to Christmas.

Obviously having said this we're now all going to be deluged with a long list of handsome designs in strongly attractive colourways! Let's hope - the colours have at least veered away from the pastel washouts of spring so I refuse to give up hope. I only found my ideal Spring/Summer scarf in May and that was tucked away unheralded in the men's collection - it's never easy being an Hermes obsessive and I suppose I like it that way:smile:

As seen in the post by @ihalhaiha, there will be a beautiful floral CSGM (a big rose or peony?) this season. The pink flower can be seen in a corner of one of the press day photos (right side). It looks tempting! View attachment 4096069
Nothing has appealed to me so far in the preview photos.... but this big flower CSGM is getting me very excited!!

I have to agree with you about the baobab flower scarf with the cat head in it.... I just don’t get it :whut: Also agree about all of the mashups and remixes of late, not a fan AT all
