I didn’t see any other cw, and when I asked about it at FSH, the SA said, ”No, there is no such scarf!” in a very snippy way. I told her that I had tried one on at George V the day before but she dug her heels in and said they’ve not been released yet
I really appreciate that you asked! It's quite brave of you. I have an irrational fear of snippy sales people, so that probably would have been made me flee from the store. Did you get anything lovely for yourself at FSH?

We went to the opera in Paris 2 weeks ago. Saturday was a rainy day and we headed to the Hermes boutique on rue de Sevres. The boutique was crowded but we were lucky to be served immediately. The choice of scarves there was tremendous. I wanted to see the famous AWOO and H en Fil, which was on my wish list. And a dilemma happened, I fall in love with 4 scarves but my bank approved only 2.

dark blue or bordeaux?

I decided to take the gold H en Fil and the bordeaux Awoo and the bordeaux H en Fil to buy later.
Good choices! As you know, I'm a big fan of the bordeaux H en Fil. But that gold suits your hair and complexion so well! I would have been very tempted by this one, but the colors washed me out. This CW is quite sophisticated with the subtle shimmer of black and blue inks on the gold.

I know that fear, I share it, too! But I think my skin is getting thicker. At the George V store, I met this family from Dallas and we had a really nice chat. The SA was clearly annoyed that I had interrupted his sale, when what I was trying to do was help him make a sale! (Because she didn’t like the csgms he was showing her) He finally asked me point blank, “Are you going to buy something?” And when I said I hadn’t seen anything yet to tempt me, he pointedly said they were closing and perhaps it was time to leave. So I left. I took a few pictures of the windows when the family I had been talking to came out. When I asked the woman if she got anything she said she would never buy anything from someone who was so rude to another person. She was so turned off. But she was drawn to the beauty of the shawl - I had steered her to MP and it was more a matter of finding the right cw for her. But they left because of how he treated me. So the guy lost his sale through his own fault, ha! Seems fitting.

For other current season stuff, everyone I asked at the three stores seemed remarkably unknowledgeable! I asked if they might have any mousselines and the SA didn’t know what they were! Perhaps she was new. The kindest SAs were at Sevres by far.

After my purchase of two scarves in Bordeaux this summer, my DH said that I could have been a SA, because most of them were rather ignorant of the current collection and not well-prepaid.

The SA was clearly annoyed
I had the same feeling in that store: the sa who was selling me, got annoyed when I started to chose which scarves I would purchase, he suggested me to buy 4.

When I ask questions in my home store now, the general consensus of the whole staff is, "I mean, you probably know best."
Which is like, cool, but also, it would be great if they could give me some inside information so I can be relevant on this online forum where I hang out, you know?

How rude of him !!
i have to say i am quite surprised as i "often" go to George V and they've always been very nice to me, even if i am just browsing !
I agree with you, sometimes it seems we are more knowledgeable than the SA :smartass:

I have been trying to find the gold H en Fil but it has not been delivered anywhere in Germany! .... and it’s right next to France!!! That’s so typical Hermes.... ;-) great choices!

Wow. Too bad people hate their jobs so much. Didn't the GeorgesV store just reopen? Shouldn't they be happy? I cannot believe he asked if you were going to buy anything!!!!
I have also tried to help make a sale, when I see an SA struggling with a customer. Often it is a man trying to buy something for his woman (who is not present). But, you know what? They don't want our help.
I have also found the nicest SAs at Sevres. But I do hate it when they don't know the merchandise at all. Maybe they hire extra people for the holidays. But - maybe train them????

Haha, yes. I feel we owe it to each other to drag as much info as possible out of any SA who will chat with us!!!
