When I ask questions in my home store now, the general consensus of the whole staff is, "I mean, you probably know best."
Which is like, cool, but also, it would be great if they could give me some inside information so I can be relevant on this online forum where I hang out, you know?

In my experience from various shops, most SA’s are not clued up compared to many members here. They know a bit about the current season, but since many of them haven’t been in the job for very long, they have little knowledge of H history, designers and older scarves. A couple of years back i was in one shop and they spotted a cadena hanging from my bag. Not even the SM knew what it was a - and it turned out they had one from another year lurking in a desk, and told me they had never known what it was:-)

I find this true when shopping for cars too. If I show up to a dealership, I usually know MUCH more than the SA - and at times the SM. It can be frustrating when they tell you such-and-such isn't available when you know dang well it is!

After my purchase of two scarves in Bordeaux this summer, my DH said that I could have been a SA, because most of them were rather ignorant of the current collection and not well-prepaid.

I had the same feeling in that store: the sa who was selling me, got annoyed when I started to chose which scarves I would purchase, he suggested me to buy 4.

Is it any better in the other H stores in Paris?
The story you tell is amazing. When the day comes that the SAs don't even know how to distinguish between a B and a K . . .

This suggests to me that H is not necessarily encouraging sales as a career path. That's too bad b/c it's fun to drop scarf names from previous seasons or bag colors when the SA knows exactly what the customer is talking about.

My final picks for Fall 2018 -
Cache Cache Fleuri
Astrologie
Un Rose Pour Alma

p.s. I get to play with the scarves, kitty gets to with the ribbons, everyone is happy !)
All gorgeous, but the Cache Cache Fleuri is especially so

OK....y'all enabled the HECK out of me! AwooView attachment 4245072
Oh it’s fantastic on you! Great choice!

I've done a sacrilegious thing...Haha! Just got my new Awooooo 100cm and in playing with it, the new huge caretag kept flopping down and was so annoying, as everyone has complained. I didn't feel confidant enough to cut the tag off without damaging the hem, so instead, I tacked the third corner in place---two passes with a doubled navy blue thread (I didn't have burgundy to match the other H stitches). I think one pass really would have been enough to hold it. That's what Hermès should have done. View attachment 4250805
This is EXACTLY what I’ve done to mine!

Finally received my Awoooo. Had some fun playing around with things. Love how soft the C/S is on this one!View attachment 4253877View attachment 4253878View attachment 4253879View attachment 4253880

A few knots with my new Carré Wash, Coupé de Gala by Wlodek Kaminski. I am in love with the soft, velvety drape and vintage feel of the Wash scarves. I was contemplating other CWs of this design, but finally went with this one.
