I feel like almost going off topic by posting this, as I’m not sure anyone here is even interested in seeing another silk than the Acte III!
But I wanted to share my new scarf: On A Summer Day. As @weN84 already mentioned, H online has the incorrect CW! They have mixed up the pics and CWs with the marine one.
This is CW 03 (ébène/bleu royal/orange). Note that the border reads as black, but is in fact ebony (thankfully quite difficult to tell). Also that the top of the “buildings” is not white, but a very light pink.
I’m in love with this scarf! The colours are exactly what I expressed I needed in a silk even before the start of the season.

I've never considered this design, but now I may have to check it out. It looks really nice.
Also, I for sure would like to see other designs besides Act III.

I think either the tag is incorrect or the online description is wrong. That looks like 01 marine/saumon/multicolor according to the u.s. website vs. the 03 as pictured on the website. Gorgeous either way but another example of a mistake on the website!

It looks amazing against all those different colors... I especially love it with yellow!

The pale pink of this 140cm is beautiful and much more interesting than the white parts of the 90cm last season.

I am slightly relieved to not be obsessed with this season's selections. The only silk that was on my wishlist was the Baobab Cat, and I was deciding between the 90 and the 45. I saw the gavroche today in the colorway I was lusting after, and brought it home! I have to say that the Hermes website did pretty well with their image on this one, the color is well-represented. Here is a comparison of mine (taken with flash) alongside the website image, hope this helps!

Turns out there's a ton of "moon" symbolism in the play. F'rinstance, this little snippet from Cliff Notes...

"With four separate plots and four sets of characters, A Midsummer Night's Dream risks fragmentation. Yet Shakespeare has managed to create a unified play through repetition of common themes — such as love — and through cohesive use of imagery. Shining throughout the play, the moon is one of the primary vehicles of unity. In her inconstancy, the moon is an apt figure of the ever-changing, varied modes of love represented in the drama. As an image, the moon lights the way for all four groups of characters."

So now I'm thinking that's why EB made the moon so enormous!

Now you really have me chuckling. In the opera by Britten, as the "moon" is being introduced (in the Pyramus and Thisbe play that the mechanicals put on in the last act), the word "moon" is sung on a ridiculous high note every time.
Here's part of the bit:
Elaine, if you don't know the opera, you should check it out. For the Pyramus and Thisbe skit, Britten spoofs all different styles of opera, including a mad scene with flute for Thisbe (played by FLUTE, LOL!).
PS - I am not really a nerd - this is the only Benjamin Britten work I like.

This is fabulous!!! It was *good* in a 90, but wowie - I love this in large format. I almost wish I hadn't seen this, LOL!
