The latest rumor, according to 9to5mac Apple employees getting up to 90% discount on Hermes Apple Watch bands. Something Apple previously did when discontinuing products. The article also states that this seems to be part of a broader approach from Apple to move away from real leather, which unfortunately fits the company culture:/

At the end of the day Hermes sure would still offer Apple Watch bands and the physical differences of an Apple Watch are minor anyways. Just going to be interesting to see if Hermes finds a way to still offer the watch faces exclusively to their customers.

Sorry for spinning the rumor mill so much. It’s just that since the original Hermes Apple Watch I was fascinated by it and S9 was supposed to be the first one I was actually gonna buy :/

Yes. The Hermes watch is literally the exact same item as the high end Apple version (stainless steel etc) but with a software bit flipped from zero to one to get access the H watch faces. (I guess technically it also has the word Hermes engraved in tiny font on the underside.)

Thanks. I have an Apple watch I use as a sports watch, and wear other watches for the most part. Going to Yellowstone NP, and wanted to "dress up" the watch and just bring it since I'm going to be doing a lot of hiking.

It's not yet clear if the move confirms recent reports that partner Apple is planning to pivot away from leather accessories for its range of devices.

I heard that Apple is discontinuing their leather iPhone cases so I'm wondering if Apple going to get rid of the Leather Strips for the Hermes Apple watches.

Yes I saw that too! Shall be interesting to see how this plays given that h is known for their leather! I wonder did they remove the apple products from the store?

yes I understand that but since apple getting rid of the leather iPhone cases, I was wondering about the bands for the apple Hermes watches this year are they only going to be woven versions now.

I worry about the same. One peace of hope: Marc Gurman, an analyst with a good track record and insider knowledge believes the partnership continues.
