Here's a huge list of consignment stores

It's not open right now, It says it'll be active once it's been updated by the store owner. Doesn't seem like a good way to run your business though...

I didn't make the purchase. There was something wrong with their payment system for over two weeks. They wanted me to give them my card info over the phone or by email and make the purchase this way. I didn't of course. Thank God I didn't move on with the purchase, although a friend of a friend had bought two bags from them and she was very happy with the buy.

It totally is the truth! Honestly, I've been extremely good the past 2 years, so I decided to treat myself. So this past week I bought:
iPad
iPad cover
2 new pairs of shoes,
7 tank tops
1 bra
15 pairs of panties
40" Sony TV
1 Eau De Parfum,
1 Eau De Toilette
4 foundations,
1 BB Cream
1 mascara
1 eyeliner
6 lip colours
1 bronzing powder,
1 blusher
1 pair slippers
3 cardigans
1 pair shorts......

Ummm. I think I went just a tad overboard, and I don't regret one thing......lmao:lolots: My birthday is on the 20th. Wonder what I'll be buying me for me, he he he he he!
Hi coachlover1000,
Good for you! It's okay to go overboard! Especially since you've been good for two years! It sounds like you made a lot of great purchases! So, you shouldn't regret one thing!
HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY! I hope you have a great day and get some great new goodies, too!

Yes, I agree with you. I wouldn't feel comfortable giving my credit card details via the phone or email. Mind you, it's good to know that your friend was happy with her purchases, so when they do get the store running properly, you and others will be happy to shop there.

The thing is that this is the third week that the problem is on and I don't know, I don't feel comfortable buying from them anymore. They still haven't contacted me to tell me the problem is fixed or not and to wait as they did last week. I think I am going to pass this bag. Whenever I had a hunch about something not going right, I was right in the end and Thanked God for it. So maybe I am lucky one more time or maybe I will lose a perfect bag but I won't know about it.

That's true. If you have a hunch about something, it's better to go with that hunch than ignore it. I hope you find a bag from one of the many other consignment stores out there! Good luck.:D

They contacted me asking to give my credit card information over the phone and to pay in 4 installments, I don't know if I said that before. Anyway, I don't want to do this so I stayed away from this bag. I hope to find something else or maybe buy another model new. I am visiting Florence in May, I know there is going to be an increase soon but I will save some more, hopefully I will sell some more and probably be able to buy a new bag after all.

Great thread. Just wanted to know if there are any consignment stores that I can visit in New York. Id love to get a pre loved Keepall 45B. I'm planning to visit soon. (: thank you

A Second Chance is a pretty good place in NYC they're pretty on top of moving items at a good speed and at a price that's decent for both the consigner and themselves. They have a couple locations in Manhattan.

Thank you so much. I'll be sure to check it out. Since I never have luck with online bids at a decent price I'd love to see what this store would have. Wish me luck (:

You're welcome! :) I've also heard of http://www.michaelsconsignment.com through some colleagues at work. I've never tried them but they seem nice but I believe their buying and selling process is slower.

I would say consignment stores generally give you 40-50% in NYC. Just as a heads up, but the speed of how quick things sell is remarkable. My friend gave A Second Chance her bag (patent Ysl muse) and they sold it within days.

Both of these places have been around for MANY years (I shopped at both occasionally before we moved to LI 13 years ago) so whatever they have been doing has definitely been working for them...perhaps Michael's is slower but you get a better deal? Also, I haven't gone through this thread but Ina (in Soho) is a must. It was small when I was a regular (oh heck, 20-something years ago) but fabulous pieces...once when I was in, the only other customer there was SJP. [emoji41][emoji41][emoji41]
