The straps don't fold down and when wearing it cross body, they get in weird positions - anyone else have this issue with Bendel bags? Any ideas to make it less annoying?

Not sure about about leather - I've only own items from the Jetsetter collection which is nylon. Sad to hear it's not soft…is it all parts of the bag hard, or only some? As for the top handles, I think most of the HB bags have upright handles and the only thing I can think of is to lengthen the shoulder strap!

Thank you. To me the entire bag is very hard / firm and it's HEAVY!! Fortunately they have a lot of other great ones to choose from.

Yep, there are some bags where the handles don't fold down at all.. probably because they are geared to wear as a satchel instead of a shoulder or crossbody? There are a few bags that I totally turned away from because of this. Even the jetsetter is a pain with the handles not being able to fold down when wearing as a backpack...I'm surprised that the new modern icon is stiff! I talked to one of the HB gals on the phone last week and she said the leather is different than any of the other bags that they have created...bummer to hear!

I screenshot this from the Henri Bendel Instagram. The website says the modern icon is "pebbled leather" but it looks more like a saffiano stamped to look like pebbled leather. I have to see it in person! Anyone know if it's in stores yet? I really like the design, but I'll probably wait for a sale.

Thanks for your thoughts. I got the Jetsetter too!! i returned the Icon. I will say the embossed leather in this collection is really nice.

The Modern icon satchel reminds me of the Celine belt satchel and the Zac Posen Eartha satchel.

Also the Empire satchel with stamped leather reminds me of the LV Empreinte leather.
Empire >> Empreinte...pun intended?

Just wanted to share a couple things I got the other week from the semi annual. Got the large beach tote and the 2 in 1 wallet crossbody. I really wanted to get the XL tech crossbody again (since I initially bought and returned it and it was such a good deal) but felt that the 2 in 1 wallet gave me more bang for my buck, so decided on that instead - plus I love the light brown color

Hello! Does anyone know if they will have an additional percentage off of the 50% off? Any chance they will do the additional 10% off again? I've been eyeing the uptown satchel! Tried the larger one for the first time and it wasn't as humongous as I was expecting!
