I am trying to decide if I should purchase a rolex, and if so, which style. I would be interested to know what styles you ladies prefer and/or own. All i know for sure is that if I do get one I want a stainless steel model as opposed to a two tone style, and a diamond dial. From there I get kinda stuck. I really like the jubilee bracelet, but think it might be dated (I was in high school during the '80s...*s*). I like the white Mother of Pearl dial, but it's so much more expensive, so I am not sure which color dial to get (rhodium, silver, white). Finally, is rolex really worth the money? I am open for any advice. Thanks.

I have the jubilee and it isnt dated at all. It will forever remain a classic. If you like the sporty look, go for the oyster bracelet. Either way you wont go wrong with a rolex. I prefer the white or silver dial.

I've been obsessed with Rolex for the last few weeks. I decided on stainless mid-size jubilee with fluted bezel and rhodium dial with Roman numerals. Of course the store doesn't have it in stock. However they do have everything in the watch I described but the face is white. I so much more prefer the rhodium - it is so beautiful in person. I saw the rhodium in the ladie's size to compare against the white of the mid-size. I absolutely love the jubilee and I also was in high school in the eighties. I think Rolex is worth the money and it holds its value the most of all the higher end watches. I would rather pay extra for diamond markers than the mother of pearl dial but I did fall in love with the Roman numerals on the rhodium. Good luck with your shopping and let keep us posted with which you select.

Thank you all for your input. Hokaplan, did you get the watch with the white face? Ok, so I think I have decided on the jubilee stainless steel bracelet, fluted bezel, diamond dial, but I can't decide between rhodium and silver face. I invite all your opinions. Thank you so much!

As tempted as I was to leave with it, I did not settle for the white face. I think the rhodium is so much prettier. It can be ordered and takes about 3 weeks. This particular store discounts 15%. Are the diamond markers available on rhodium? I've seen the diamond markers on silver and it was gorgeous. Try to see what it looks like on both color faces before you commit. Also, are you doing the ladies size? I'm most interested in the mid-size but someday if I get a second one, I would do ladies with diamonds!

I am glad you did not settle for less than you really wanted. Three weeks is certainly not too long to wait for just what you like, plus a 15% discount!! That's incredible. Best I have found so far is 11%. I am planning on getting the ladies size. I know that "bigger" watches are in right now, and I love the look, but when I tried on the mid-size, I just wasn't comfortable with it. I saw both the rhodium and the silver, both with diamond dial, and they are very close, which makes for an even more difficult decision. I have also considered the white Mother of Pearl, but that makes it so much more expensive, and I don't know if I love the MOP that much more. I also like the rhodium roman dial. It's very classic looking. I wish I could just settle on the combination I want most. This shouldn't be such I difficult decision...ya know??

I lost sleep trying to make the decision between ladies vs mid-size and Roman numerals vs diamonds. I knew without a doubt that I preferred jubilee and fluted. As much as I love the diamonds, I just don't want to spend that much now. Probably how you feel about the mother-of-pearl. I know that in 3 years, I'll be ready for something different because I get bored! So I can either switch to diamonds then or trade-in and start new. That is also why I am leaning towards mid-size now because it is popular and trendy now. But the ladies is classic.

Maybe this can help you. I prefer the Pink/Copper w/ Diamond. I have the two-tone w/ white diamond but I regret not getting a different color. You can always change the dial in the future at Rolex Svc but might as well get a new one from the cost. The last one has a rolexrolexrolex all across the dial giving it a 3d effect (aka Anniversary Dial) Good luck hunting for your rolex.

Thanks, boku, that does help. Have you been pleased with your rolex (except for the dial color)? If you were me, would you choose the silver, rhodium, or white mother of pearl? Thanks, again.

If your going with the mother of pearl, I prefer the dark because the white, you can't seem to notice its mother of pearl. The dark I've seen IRL and it changes color as you tilt the watch from purple to grey, etc. Here is some more references.
