Hi all,

I’m in kind of a similar predicament with my black togo bag. No idea where it came from but I noticed this white streak on it. I brought it to the boutique and my SA said it’s so minor and to take a cloth to wipe it, but the leather is so dry I feel like it needs a little moisture to get it off. She said water is a no…. Based on what I’m reading I’m guessing baby wipes are a no too? What do you all use to get very minors stains off ?
I’m inclined to take a damp paper towel and wipe it but scared !
You can try using a small qtip first, if it works then proceed on bigger area.

There is quite a bit of information regarding this on the forum, but this thread by @docride is a good place to start. Water or a damp cloth will not damage Togo as long as you wipe it dry right after. Baby wipes are not a good idea since they usually contain other chemicals than just water, and some of those chemicals could damage the leather or remove dye from the bag (which I have learned from experience, unfortunately).

Thanks so much for the resources. I was hoping a damp cloth would get it out :( when it’s damp the stain goes away but as it dries that white residue reappears. I guess I’ll just live with it until my bag gets more dinged up/stained then eventually send it to the spa! But my OCD is not handling it very well. Happened on the second time ever wearing it sigh

I usually use Lexol PH wipes for things like this. Lexol makes a cleaner and a conditioner, and usually I only use the conditioner for removing things like denim transfer, etc. - but for a real stain, I'd try the cleaner. Unfortunately since water is not taking it off, it's something that is stuck on or soaked in. The leather care threads are pretty detailed.
Do not, do not, do not use baby wipes (insert praying hands emoji lol).
TL;DR....you could try a tiny dab of a simple leather conditioner first. Patch test on the bottom of the bag. Good luck.

Thank you so much for your response! have you personally used this for togo? I'll check out the leather care threads!!

I use this on Togo and Clemence, say, at end of day if I wore dark jeans. But I would say DYI is always risky... read those threads and take the experts' advice (even so, even with the most expert advice, patch test; those threads say Lexol is ok for Barenia and it is NOT  ). Togo is a resilient leather; my Gold Kelly had a whole cappuccino spilled on it and not one stain.

Just noticed today I have this mark on this baby !! I’m assuming it’s either some water mark or hand sanitizer ..could be a number of things .. I tried to rub it off w microfiber wash cloth that was damp but nothing changed
Any recommendations would be appreciated
Is this something that needs to go to spa ? View attachment 5211253
If it’s not wiping away …. And it gets darker with wetness, if conclude it’s color loss … maybe some acetone mail polish remover hit the bag?
Color loss is not remedied by applying a cleaner or conditioner on top . Not sure Hernes would attempt to fix this but you can ask …
This can be devastating… to hear … a trust professional maybe able to make it look better …
Best of luck , doc
