Help Please! Which On The Go PM to get

Hi Keely
So here is the report: Onthego PM is gorgous, cute, practical, lightweight, looks durable, I really really liked it and bought it. I guess I fell in love with it and turned a blind eye to how small it is. They didn't have any MM in store for size comparison, no bicolor, canvas, nothing. Now I am having second thoughts as I normaly carry during the day more than this bag can handle. Maybe I should return it, I am scratching my head now, it is really cute.
Do you own any of the GM or MM sizes?

Congratulations! It is a smaller bag for a “tote”. I just have a NF MM which I really only use for travel. I tried the MM Onthego at the store, loved it, but felt just too big. I don’t work in an office and have the NF for travel. I also personally prefer smaller bag so when the PM was pulled I thought it was perfect for me!! If however, you enjoy larger bags and carry a lot of items, you might want to consider the MM. For my lifestyle the pm is great for shopping, functions and date night (without strap). If you think too small though go for MM.

You know what I didn't tell you (because it may sound crazy), I own an Empreinte Black Onthego GM, however never got to use it in the past year because of the obvious reasons. It is in mint condition, That is why I was asking you how Empreinte leather holds up. I was not really in to LV until they launched the onthego GM in black Empreinte Giant monogram, I fell hard for that shape and black is my colour.
Now this prelude is to say, does one need a GM and a MM? Are they that different? (I know you may not be able to help me here dear Keely)
My SA just gave me an appointment to go see MM tomorrow (new delivery).
I don't like to buy and then return again. I have never returned any bag.

Oh my!! You have the black GM already? You certainly do love this style (but it’s not crazy at all if you love something to buy multiples!). Well I think it’s great news your SA received the MM. I have not see a GM, but I think you will be able to certainly confirm which one you want. You will always wonder if you don’t see the MM.. then in the end you could end up with the trio of onthegos

By the way I saw the bicolour grey PM in store and tried it on. It is incredibly beautiful. She also showd me a PM city steamer which is very elegant and pretty.

You are like my sister, she always carries little cute bags with a straight posture like a dart. She wonders why I am buckling under the weight of my own bags all the time!

For summer I have contemplated trying to get the by the pool speedy 25 in the gorgeous Brume color but I am worried I will think it’s ginormous!

Yes, minis and nanos are trendy, I don't think they would last. By "little cute" I meant "small" (maybe because my bags are ginormous). I have been trying to train myself to use smaller bags and I have to admit they are a lot more comfortable. That was the incentive for onthego PM.

I am heading to check out by the pool speedy now (told you I am not well versed in LV).

Hi Keely, I was there for a relatively short time, it was full of people, really full, like the pre-Covid era full. Here is what happened:

The store had received only one onthego, a black bi-color Empreinte MM. I took the PM I had bought yesterday and my own GM with me and compared the 3 of them together. It was actually a productive visit, because I can now answere my own question (if GM and MM are really that different): yes they are. So decided to return the PM (regretably, well having 3 black Empreinte onthegos sound like overkill even to me) and purchase the MM instead.

Bicolour black is prettier in real life than in photos, at least under those LV store lights which make everything look good. However is not really my style, so no MM for today.

The SA said they have no idea when they get a black MM but she will let me know as soon as it happens. However she does't know if it would take a week or 6 months, or never!
Alternatively if I pay the full amount in advance she would place an order to Paris. I wanted to remove my self from the crowded store asap so asked her to please send me the deets.

On the way back home I was thinking what if I place an order and Paris sends me a returned product, what if... what if...
Why not just wait for the fresh delivery to store (last week they received one but my SA was on vacation)

I am in no hurry, I am most of the time home, going no where

What do you think? wait or order?

Hi Casey, How is your MM Empreinte holding up? any slouch or issues with the handles? Do you know if the handles are attached to the leather or only to the lining? Thanks

It took 5 days from I ordered it until it arrived in the store. When I went to the store they had both the all black and the bicolor, so I could look at both. Luckily, there was no question for me which one to get when I saw them side by side

Since you are now in doubt about wether you picked the right bag for yourself, I would contact my SA and tell him/her about my dilemma and make them order the bicolor asap so that you can make the right choice. It is a pricy bag, and it is important to be 100% sure. There is nothing worse than: "I wished I had bought the other one instead..."...I've been there...

They are both beautiful bags and I hope you will be able to choose the one you fall in love with Good luck deciding!

I love my bag so much that I am very, very tempted to call my SA and order the bicolor in Tourterelle/Creme as well

Hi Maria, I saw the bicolour(s) in real life, had to practise severe self contorol not to purrchase them and stick with black. They are so so beautiful. My SA understood how smitten I am and offered to reserve them for me. How is your bag holding up?

I think you know for certain which one you like the best! Now it seems like most LV pieces have to be special ordered! I would go ahead and place the order for the bag from France. These bags are so difficult to obtain, I would not want to wait months hoping one magically comes in.

I texted my SA the moment I read your reply! Thanks for the headsup.
I remember she siad some thing about Paris is heading to another lock down again.

I also asked her about by the pool collection, she said is it from last year!!! (is it?)
This forum is ahead of LV itself!
Then I searched the forum and found by the pool thread, oh my is so uplifting, those colours are so beautiful in a relaxing way.
But I didnt find your speedy, can you post a pic or point it to me in that thread? thank you
