One of my many fetes venitiennes: this could go to a new home, I think.View attachment 5683209View attachment 5683210
So far, I am most fond of the third gold, Fleurs de lotus. Am not entirely a fan of the first two, or this one, as I think they wash out your complexion. JMO though. I do like paperolles on you bc of the blue gray, but I’m in the minority. :)

If it were me, I would part with the first traité des armes, the flora graeca (which I see you already did plan to rehome) the fetes, and the paperoles. I agree that this is a challenging swathe of the colour wheel for your complexion, so would be brutal here to allow yourself more leeway elsewhere. My fave of these is the second traité des armes.

I'm sorry I'm late to the party, I haven't read all the posts so probably someone's already said the same.

Costume de Fete looks good on you. Just wear it with black and red lipstick. It's a party scarf, it's the life and soul of any party, but it needs to go to the party without competition.

Rather than go scarf by scarf, maybe work out what makes you really love/not-so-love certain scarves. I.e. which themes, sentiment, best colours, favourite artists etc. If that means keeping all Fetes Venitiennes and getting rid of every gav so be it (not a suggestion, just an example).

It does help to see you in scarves though. Design: (Only IMO) I think you look best in bold, luscious prints, even better with definite curves (in the design). I don't think you look as good in the ultra-femme, wispy, ditsy prints. You can take high-contrasts and complimentary colours too, and the stronger earth tones. Those greyed, low-contrast colours need strong lines to make them work.

As is often the case, papertiger articulated the thought forming in my mind about why some designs work so much better for you than others. The strong lines/strong colors really sing on you.

As an example, I love the whimsy of Traites but the grey version is sort of blah on you. You may not be generally partial to black and gold cws but that version is more vibrant and I like it on you. It reminds me of that scarf thread about which scarf to wear to an ‘I’m in charge here’ meeting. In this one you’re definitely the boss lady

Agreed. I also don't like the cool grey against the warm beige of the second Traites. Hermes does that cool/warm mixing quite a bit (I'm thinking of every cw of Jonques et Sanpans) and lots of people love it, but it bugs me.

Thanks for these thoughts. I have not seen the curry IRL. Might be trouble!
Once I had the bright blue sweater on, I went all out with loud—the sunnies are orange even—for a New Years Day winter beach walk LOL. When the scarf arrived I was wearing a Merlot colored sweater: View attachment 5681673
Fantastic, I like it with the previous outfit but this is even better. I think it would be criminal to move this one on !

I love this Fleurs de Lotus, with 2 different sweaters:

Moma, You must keep this Lotus. The sage green looks beautiful on you. I love how you have paired it with mauve-pink sweater to highlight the petals. This is my favorite of today's current showings. Came back to add that it shows so beautifully paired with your green sweater, too. Please keep this one!!!

I can’t do better than echo Papertiger’s post , the larger strong patterns are fabulous on you.
As for colours , I can’t imagine many people I know looking good in the beiges or the pale orange Mousseline . If I dare say it they pull dated. I think so many of the old designs still look cool and stylish : Roi Soleil , Fleur de Lotus ( beaaaautuful , just gorgeous in the green)
You seem to be a natural scarf wearer , using them to enhance mood and outfits, I’m looking forward to the next round !
I love this sort of thread , it’s been a while since MYH , and so thank you !
