Experienced L.V lovers need some good advice after owning so many bags which have come and gone, I need a durable long lasting L.V that is bomb proof and will last me a lifetime. Are the older vintage bags better than the newer L.V?
Durability wise?

I have a young 2yr old so need a good versatile bag that I don’t have to keep changing.

I had these in mind:

1. Black vintage Epi Mabillion Rucksack
2. Mono vintage Saint Cloud
3. Red Monceau Epi Red
4. New South Bank Besace

Or something else maybe

Sac Monceau is my favorite of the bunch. Epi is tough and the design is very classic.

In my opinion, there are no significant differences in quality between vintage bags and new bags. However, some design differences may affect the way an item wears overtime. This is particularly noticeable on Monogram canvas bags, which feature a lot less vachetta trims and pipping these days. I would stay away from folded canvas corners and raw canvas edges.

Whatever you pick: enjoy!

That’s so helpful fabuleux thank you [emoji847]
The Monceau is a smart design and I love Epi leather such a hard choice.

Which holds more the Monceau or the Mabillion?

I have the southbank for a little over a year now and love it! It is one of my most functional bags as well as carefree. I can fit a 16oz waterbottle in it a wallet as well as a few other things. The added bonus is the spot in the front that makes it super easy to just slide your phone in or keys to have them accessible! I don't have kids but have used it with my nieces and nephews (all under the age of ) for park and plaground trips, grocery store trips, and anything and it was so easy! One of my favorites

I’m leaning towards this one it’s so smart and classy looking.
The seller can’t photograph the date code so annoying. It reads SR0143. It’s vintage bag bought from a vintage shop. Does anyone know which year this bag was made?

I need to be sure it’s authentic before I buy it [emoji51]

Does it look good front the current pics?

I might have to go for the Mabillion instead. [emoji28]

It’s was the Mabillion or Monceau and after careful thought and Fabuleux’s wise advice I’ve changed my mind and gone for the Monceau. I used to own a Metis in mono and loved it. The seller will take it back if the A4 U authentication comes back as fake. Which hopefully won’t be the case. Looks good to me though. Can’t wait.

I’ve haven’t been on here’s for ages. So glad we have the experts here we have when needed. You all do a great worthwhile job.

She’s arrived today so pleased I didn’t buy the Mabillion his is to die for so cute [emoji7]

This is a bag for life it’s so robust and bomb proof and deceptively spacious. I don’t like to overfill my bags. If I take my jewellery out I can fit my I phone 6s plus in. So gorgeous and I prefer it to the Metis in mono which I used to have. The date code was quite hard to picture but I’ve just managed to do it.

It’s lovely, congrats!
I wish LV made more Epi styles like this or with rounded edges again.

Hi. I see you decided on a bag. It’s lovely. I hope your authentication comes back as a genuine LV bag. [emoji2]

Yes this forum always helps me make the right decisions. Thanks so much I’ve sent it off to A4U just now God willing and fingers crossed. I’m not an expert but it looks the real deal to me after owning quite a few L.V in my time.
