HELP! I'm going crazy trying to choose! What's your favorite COACH black leather bag?

I love LOVE the Ashley bags and the best part is that you could have some luck at score one brand new at the outlet rather than looking for one online...the leather on the Ashley is thick and sooo beautiful. The only DOWNFALL with the Ashley is that it can be hard to get in and out easily.

I would recommended the Sophia bag over the Ashley b/c of that issue with the Ashley. Since toucan handle the speedy 25 I think the regular/small Sophia will be perfect for you. It's a classic bag, can be a handheld, can be a shoulder bag, and the leather on the Sophia is awesome!! The Sophia bag is soooo easy to get things in and out!

Yes I feel that the Ashley can be dressy...in my opinion the Ashley feels better as a shoulder bag compared to the Sophia. BUT it's not often that I carry my Sophia as a shoulder bag (just when you need your hands free for a bit)....really the Sophia is a great bag...might look into a gathered black? The gathered bags are TDF!

What size do you want?

There's also the Chelsea Katarinas in black leather (both black/brass and black/silver) or the totes. Do you want an outlet find or FP (w/ a PCE coupon, of course)? You could even go old school Zoe (I have the med Zoe, however it's a bit small)--but I know they made those in several sizes (both for outlet and FP).

I say black gathered leather Sophia. I missed out on this one, but I got the black gathered leather Lindsey and now I'm hooked. Now I have 5 gathered leather bags! The black with gold hardware is so classic and beautiful!

How about these black bags:

1) Gallery tote in black (patent, lovely, lightweight and not huge at all). I believe this can only be bought on eBay or dept stores, not Coach itself.

2) Laila in black (shimmery, gorgeous, large and pretty heavy)

3) Sophia Chevron (less expensive than the others, very light weight, seems very durable so far)

FYI the Ashleys are MFF so they tend to be a little less quality materials. Try an Audrey or Sabrina on eBay instead perhaps. They are slightly more pricy but are much better quality IMHO. Same exact shape bags but they preceeded the MFF Ashleys.

So my birthday is coming up, and I have $200 to spend and I want to get a Coach black leather bag. I honestly don't mind pre-owned in good condition and I don't mind shopping on E-Bay, after getting the bag authenticated, of course!

For an all-time classic bag with a little bit of edge - this is my personal favorite

Kristen Satchel #16800. There's at least one on ebay under $200 so it fits your budget. I bought this one because I wanted a timeless bag that would work with everything and it DOES.

My second choice would be the Sophia Embellished C in small (or large, but I think the small would work just fine for you) but I don't think you're going to find that easily for $200 or less. I snagged a pre-owned one for $175 a while ago but that was a scoop, for sure!

If you go for the small Sophia, you might want to try one on in the store first just to make sure you like how it looks and feels when worn on the shoulder with the long strap. I personally don't like the long strap so only ever carried it as a satchel. The short handles on the large Sophia can fit over the shoulder though.

I think my favorite black bag is Sophia. I have the small one with smooth leather and gold hardware, and she goes with anything...can be dressed up or down, and look perfect both ways! I scored mine for $125 at the outlet recently. Black gathered Sophia is an excellent choice as well, but I know it will be over the $200 mark.

I also have a black leather Marielle that I love, but I don't think she can pull off a dressy look as well as Sophia.

Abigail is also a gorgeous black leather bag that can pull off dressy and casual, but that one will be over your $200 budget unless you can find one at a steal somewhere.

You know what black bag I don't have but would like is the Black Parker Shoulder bag. I have this in Mushroom and it is so comfortable to carry. Just seems to me like an everyday black "workhorse" bag

There is no shortage of beautiful black Coach bags - here is another to throw into the mix: Pinnacle Eva - this is the smaller one. I LOVE this bag - my heart stopped when I saw it at the outlet.

you could always get a black leather baby sage?! bag is gorgeos, classic style, AND can be worn as a cross body bag! .... just another option!! let us know when you made up your mind ;]
