Okay so going by the replies I've had I am certainly not alone.
But I can't help feeling guilty, like it's totally selfish & vain to want more & more & more jewellery & to not be happy when I get that much lusted after piece because I've found something else I've fallen in love with...
Waaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!

Ha ha "Hubby not know"!!!!

I've got more than a few "hubby not know" pieces too (in fact, unless they've been bought for me by him, my jewellery is all "hubby not know")!!!!!!!!
Hubby not know the full extent of my crazy addiction!

The funny thing. I wore my medium Tiffany hoops DH bought a while back. He ask are they new? I said u bought 'em.... !! so I might as well keep buying cos he dont keep track of them!!!

Good stuff! Ye I wouldnt mind doing a jewellery making course or something to curb my addiction!!

I just bought all my supplies to get started (could've gotten a Tiffany's bracelet or something instead but I was GOOD lol)

I've been watching videos and following tutorials online. I don't have time for in person classes LOL I'll keep ya'll updated on my process. I'll probably create a new thread just on what I'm making. I won't open up a shop for a while until I know I actually CAN make something :p

My addiction is back...just bought a (small) diamond pendant and a pair of earrings.

They were preloved so I did get them at a good price but still was an unplanned purchase. And I still want a Love :help:

Tell me about it!!
I thought it would get better after buying my signature piece: a 5,3 ct OEC diamond. And it did get better... For a while.

First I had to save up and I also sold 4 of my rings to be able to buy my diamond ring. So, my collection was shrinking a bit (which made me feel so good and proud!) and I had my signature piece on my finger.

But well, ehm... A signature piece needs good company, right? So I thought buying a solid RG wave ring was justified. But then... A WG wave bracelet looked so good in combination with the RG one. And, oh well... I could continue like this forever.

Recently I have deliberatelg been downsizing and/or transforming my jewelry collection. It feels a bit better because I get a lot of wear out of them and most pieces fit nicely together.

I have had a crazy jewelry period, buying the following pieces:
- a reset of my OEC diamond
- 2 rings that I can combine with my OEC diamond ring
- a reset of my wedding ring, that I can wear in two ways now: classic and artsy
- an artsy 2 finger ring
- a ebony wooden ring with an antique diamond halo
- 2 new closure pieces for my baroque pearl strand
- a set of 3 YG/RG is currently being made from 3 link bracelets I inherited, but could not wear as the gold was high carat and thus quite soft.

:nuts::nuts::nuts:
But still I have a wishlist of additional pieces that would complement my existing pieces so nicely.

I feel a bit less guilty lately because I:
- sold or transformed jewelry I was not wearing anymore
- only (try to) have jewelry designed for me with a special meaning
- can combine my jewelry better, thus reducing the cost per wear
- don't smoke or drink and I ride a bicycle instead of a car
- work hard and am able to buy my own jewelry without doing harm to our financial situation

Good luck ladies! I can so totally related to your experiences and stories!

A little update to where I am........

I have bought myself a necklace in the past week and received a couple of necklaces as gifts too. Where I am at the moment is sorting through everything I have (I have jewellery in drawers, boxes and the jewellery box itself). Out of sight out of mind comes to mind here.

So I have laid everything out on the bed and only what I love and is sentimental is staying. It has to be both for the sentimental things to stay though. What I am trying to avoid is purchasing things on impulse in future. I must think longer before clicking buy me. I am also limiting my online jewellery purchases, I now can only buy jewellery in person. This way I am helping the local economy by supporting these small businesses.

Well, my mom spent her spare money on jewelry - she passed on some beautiful pieces to me and my siblings, mostly gold pieces. However, she hardly ever wore her jewelry. I wear mine every day - I do have an addiction, however, I feel that I have put together a collection that is sizable and makes me quite happy (mostly Yurman, Tiffany and Cartier) and I don't feel like I need to add any more, UNLESS, I go absolutely nuts about a particular piece, like the Cartier BB - I just had to have it!!! Other than that I am the happiest wearing what I have (including Mom's sometimes because I am not a gold person) and just looking at the pieces in the chest...nothing like jewelry, I truly inherited my mom's passion!

I tried to have a jewellery clean out using the same method as you - ie: only keep sentimental & loved pieces BUT I failed miserably! xMMx

Keep up the good work! I too am "transforming" my jewellery wardrobe from only wearing SS to including more RG pieces. I feel that in years to come the RG will make lovely heirloom pieces to hand down to my daughter, as to me RG has a timeless feel & is a bit more special than SS. xMMx
