Help I need to decide what color for the only Birkin I may ever own !

I mean, if we are going by what others / the general population prefers the boring answer is going to be…black.

If this is truly the only Birkin you will ever have (just be warned many, many of us thought so once upon on a time…then oops…) I would always go for a classic color (gold, Etoupe, black) over a seasonal color (chai, Gris Meyer), as those colors stood the test of time and trends and are classics and universal. But of course at the end of the day you should pick whatever you love the most - assuming you won’t ever rehome this bag as it will be your one and only. If you do think there is a chance to rehome it for whatever reason in the future, then the classics are even more obviously the better choice for that possibility.

Ok so I had posted something about this . I was thinking about gold at the time but now I don’t know . A lot of people have told me there are nicer colors ? What others might be a better choice that are pretty maybe grid Meyer with phw or a different brown or gray ?

There's a huge color reference section here. I would say, decide if you want a "classic" "forever" color or are happy to work a color you just love into your wardrobe -then take a look.

Obv the most classic colors are Noir and Gold...I'd say followed by Etain, Etoupe, Rouge H (and other oxbloods/reds like Bordeaux and Rouge Sellier), Gris Tourterelle and many other mid grays and beiges (Gris Meyer, Gris Asphalte, Trench, Gris Mouette, etc.), the many creams (Craie, Nata, Beton, etc.), the dark and navy blues (Nuit, Saphir, Navy, Marine, etc.), the dark greens (Foncé, Cypres, etc.), the browns and brown-purples (Ebene, Havane, Raisin, etc.). Ofc there is also Blanc.
JMHO but most of these work with both PHW and GHW.
Then you get into bolder classic choices like bright reds, H Orange, yellows, pinks, bright blues and greens.

It's very personal. I have I think about 25 or so H bags? At least 5-6 are gold and another 5 are Noir. If I had to choose ONE color forever, it would be one of those two.

I thought I wanted gris Meyer until I saw it IRL. It just didn’t seem rich or lush enough when I saw it, so I passed (GM padded 25K). . .some things you do have to see IRL to decide

Here’s a chai vs gold by the way, since I realized there is no direct comparison shared yet, in case it helps. (Leather-wise, it’s Togo for the Gold bag and Evercolor on the Chai slim wallet)

I planned to have just one Birkin and one Kelly (I hate repeating styles) and did struggle with the colour choices. I understand your predicament as there are so many beautiful colours and opinions out there. I veered from various 'neutrals', from Gold to Vert Cypress to Blue Nuit to Graphite to Etain but in the end, I chose black.

I chose black because it’s the ultimate classic and I realize that no one else but me can answer this question as it pertains to MY lifestyle, MY wardrobe, MY usage, and MY preference. Furthermore, IF I stick to my plan of one bag, I would have covered the ultimate basic.
That was my rationale and HTH.

I was thinking Togo leather for a bag . worries about it being a bit white instead of light grey because sometimes it looks white in pics
