Help I bought a bag from sluxury!!

I read all of the comments here about sluxury and the only problem seemed to be with packaging and smells. So I bought a kelly from her and reminded her to package it well. It came packaged very well but the bag was not as described at all and it smells! The description said that there were several scratches. There are scratches all over the entire bag, some dings and slight color loss in 2 areas. I have sent her an email and I am waiting for her response. Has anyone had a similar problem with her? I am extremely upset. What should I expect her to do?

But who has such a Gamma X-Ray machine at home ? Industrial laundries who suplies medical items to hospitals may have one.

Olof!
Great idea about radiation, but, er...gamma-rad? Not when metals are involved (messes w/ core electrons). Maybe UV radiation would be better, although, less effective. UV lamp, or sunlight. Color would fade, but metals not messed up or radioactive after treatment.

LLB,
You need DOCRIDE's Rx w/ this one. Check out her informative leather care tome. She is a genius on leather/leather care. (I would PM her w/ exact details of the condition of the leather.)

Bottom line: act promptly. Make your final decision within 21 days (someone said it's 21 days for PayPal?) of your credit card purchase date.

Good luck.

I nearly bought a bag from this seller once but searched her seller name on the forum and found a few posts from people who had bought from her and complained their bags were not packaged well .... and some said the bags smelt musty/ mouldy.....

Why would all of these bags smell mouldy??? Where on earth are they being stored by the seller?

Thank you everybody for your input and support. Here is how it ended up!!

Keep in mind that I emailed her and specifically asked her about the scratches and whether or not the bag smelled. She said that there was no smell and that there were a few scratches. There are scratches all over the bag and the smell is horrible!!

She offered to either take the bag back or give me a credit. If wanted her to take the bag back I had to pay all shipping costs because she said that she ordinarily sells the bag for a lot more money. I also should have realized based on the price that the condition of the bag was in used condition. I thought that that was outrageous because it shouldn't matter what she sold the bag for and the listing said in mint condtion. Also to insure a bag properly and send it back to Japan is a small fortune not taking into account the $95 I had already paid to have it sent to me. I thought the credit she offered was too small. After many emails and negotiations she raised the credit to an amount I thought I could live with. If I could have sent the bag back at no cost to me I think I would have. I am either going to send it to Doc or try to fix it myself. I would never buy anything from her again!!!

Well, i am glad you found a solution you can live with, more or less, and that that bag has found a kind home with you. I hope she shines right up, and I hope you will let us know...

I agree that that is a risky seller, as has been mentioned, her descriptions are cookie cutter, and you do take a chance. That being said, there are certainly bargains to be had. But she should have disclosed the condition of the bag accurately, IMHO.

lesson learned- I won't even bother looking at her auctions after reading some of the posts here....I hope you can restore the bag to a state you find acceptable and enjoy it.

i bought a bag from her previously.

bag came as described, nothing wrong.

but i was shocked to receive the bag in a huge EMS envelope, bag was thinly bubble-wrapped.

after the transaction, she did send me a free jap magazine all about branded bags (& she shipped it EMS shipping too!).

In a home with no air conditioning.

Rose is correct. It can be a real problem in countries where humidity is high. I once received a beautiful Chanel bag from a reseller in such a location. I was also told it had no smell also. When I received it, it had a horrid mold smell also. I did send the bag back at my expense and took a loss. I couldn't live with the smell and wasn't up to the battle of trying to clean up a bag that cost well over 1k. That experience has saved me from spending a lot more money on Ebay. Once bitten, twice shy. It's a rare used bag I'll buy and only with tons of research.

I also think you have to be very careful about buying overseas if you are in the US. The price to send bags back is extremely high because the US post office has insurance limits for foreign countries so you have to use a service like fed ex.

I am so sorry to hear that LBB. Do what you need that costs you the least grief. I think since you are keeping the bag, you can either try your best fix it up and enjoy it, or fix it up and try to sell it away if it is associated as an unhappy reminder. It is good you got it at a good price so you shouldn't lose on it. Good luck.

My Chanel waist bag has a funny smell to it too, my husband who doesnt usually notice things, noticed immediately when I told him to chk out my new purchase, it also has a small tear in corner she didnt mention in ad, but I figured its vintage....

This is the bag I bought from Sluxury. In an email she told me that there weren't any smells and that there were not many scratches.

I agree, I get that kind of attitude too, her last email when I questioned the authenticity, she said that I dont know 90s bags so I should never purchase. Also to go buy pix she uses since too buys for more. Her shipping is 2x more than ($50) for same type of shipping with other sellers in her area

I have never liked sluxury's attitude. She says I do not have time to take more photos. Her photos are way too small to see the condition of things.
