Oh no, I am so sorry...I've purchased scarves, jewelry and cadenas from this seller, but never a bag. I'm hoping seller does the right thing by you. But if you love the bag, how about a trip to the spa...either H spa or Doc Ride's spa...as someone else mentioned, maybe you can get a partial refund to cover that cost and then you will have the beautiful bag. If you feel like you are too disappointed to ever love it, then press hard on the refund because it is not as described - i.e. has smell and also many scratches. Good luck!

i am so sorry you are disappointed with the bag... i think sunlight will kill the mold, so while you are waiting to send her to the spa, you might put her in the light of day. there was another thread about this somewhere if you do a search. also docride might be able to help if you post to the docride's vintage leather thread.

Hi I purchased a kelly ado from sluxury back in 2005. The bag came with the tan fabric bag smelt mold. But I put the fabric bag in sunlight and the smell disappears after 1 day exposure. As for the bag, it did not smell mold after a few hours' use. I sent it to Hermes for a spa treatment a few months later, and it came back looking great.

HM, I don't think she is on the recommended seller list as tpfers have some issues with her. Her description is mostly a copy and paste job, and she doesn't provide additional pictures. Also, I have no verification for this, but she has sold many similar and exact kellys and they all can't be from her closet. Not possible.

She sells authentic thou. I bought my recently revealed BBK from her, I think I really lucked out on that. I decided to take the risk as it was significantly cheaper. I have also researched her prior to buying.

Glad to say it arrived ok, packaging is ok for me, no smell, and mint like the description. I took a picture of the packaging when my BBK arrived (didn't use them for the reveal after all!) She was also very nice to me. *phew*

BTW, I'm now doing the blackrock + obenaulf treatment on BBK to waterproof it as per docride's instructions.

LBB, I suggest you take this beauty to the spa. It is still worth it considering the price you got for her. If your bag is dry don't sun it.

P.S Could the smell be from the packaging? If the paperbag gets wet in transition it could have some smell.

LBB,
I've sold bags on eBay before and know that if you pay by Paypal, they hold the funds for 21 days until the buyer gets a postive feedback and/or proof of shipment arrival. So, if it's been less than 21 days, you can contact eBay/Paypal and they may be able to get you your money back.

I would not take a chance with mold- it can be tricky to get rid of completely. A bag stored carefully in a closet should not contract mold- it sounds more like it was kept in a dark and damp place like a basement. Do you see any evidence of mold- such as white powdery substance or small black colonies? Some people have severe allergic reactions to the spores. For me, I would send it back and file a dispute with PayPal that the bag was misrepresented and presents a health risk. Why should you now have to worry about mold abatement and sending the bag to Hermes for repair?

LBB, if you like this bag and if you have paid a reasonable price for it, don't let it go .... Send it to the Hermes for a service. It will come back superb !

The smell will go away .

I have extensive experience with vinatge and used Kelly bags. Smell is a very common issue, because people leave their bags for years inside their closet. The smell goes away, trust me.

There is no such a thing as leaving your bag outside , in the fresh air, for a few hours a day. In a few days, the smell will totaaly disapear.

Enjpy your bag .... It is beautiful !

So I don't have any personal experience with sluxury, but my good friend did buy an H bracelet from her over a year ago and it said "nearly new", but was very, very scratched. Sluxury wasn't so helpful with fixing the problem, so my friend just kept the bracelet thinking it would be good for travel, or times when she didn't need to worry about what happened to it. Not such a big deal on a small purchase, but hopefully she will fix the issue with a larger purchase!

I have bought a BBK from her too, and I guess I lucked out. The bag was super mint, with basically no scratch on it (just as her described). And it came with the original box, and dust bags. It was not a huge bargain (by my standard LOL), but it was exactly what I was looking for so I was happy about that. Having said that, it did come with a storage smell but I didn't mind that much... One thing I do agree though: She does sell authentic stuff so hopefully it will give you some comfort... If you really like the kelly and think you got a good deal, just send it to spa and it will come back great!

I have noticed for some time that Sluxury says the same phrases over and over in all her listings. "This authentic Hermes bag is in mint condition and carried a month only. Its so useful" " Seems to be the most common phrase! I always ask myself how could the same description apply to all her bags.

I have never liked sluxury's attitude. She says I do not have time to take more photos. Her photos are way too small to see the condition of things.

Agree. Am so sorry LLB. I read that some people had issues with her packaging as well, so while i am tempted by her listings, I never have bought. I think doc did weigh in with an opinion that the bag is beautiful though and if anyone knows how to fix things up, doc is the expert. good luck!

hi ladies, i have no affiliations with sluxury, but i have bought from her, and lucked out as xiao2...i bought a vintage sellier kelly and its really as descibed BUT yes the shipping was shocking...only in thin bubblewrap and envelope. I am not defending her, but for her copy pasting the words for her listings, i think its because she cant really speak english. and for LLB, please do let us know what is the result of your returns...so we are able to know what person this sluxury really is. thank you very much for letting me share my thoughts.
