Good luck with your decision. Don't worry too much about what "looks bigger". Anything in that size range is going to look big. When you are looking at the different sizes in the store, the size difference seems obvious, but when you have your ring on your finger, it will look fab!
Have your SA bring in rings in a similar size etc, and then give them all a try. I had and emerald cut Vs. RB dilemma in the fall. I have back and forth and even created a roll on the purse forum. 65% of people voted for a RB. I'll admit that I was back and forth, especially because I wanted a ring with sparkle and one that look big. Once the rings all came in and I could see the actual shape of the emerald diamond that I would be getting I felt that the difference in appearance between the ec and rb was minimal.
My heart fell hard for the EC and I didn't even try the RB on! Always follow your heart.
I was in T % Co in SF this past weekend and tried on a 2 carat EC and was suprised that it didn't look much bigger than my 1.62. And honestly the SA and I both agreed that mine looked better on my hand. I think this is something to consider, especially with the novo.
If you or anyone wants to get a ring in OREGON and save the tax, let me know, I have a great SA!
GOOD LUCK. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG, THEY ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL!
